Surreal in a strangely peaceful way (given the circumstances back then)

That's a really curious phenomenon - I experienced something similar in Amalfi. Absolutely gorgeous views but for some reason not at all stimulating for creativity, everything was beautiful and yet felt like I've seen some iteration of it a thousand times already (strictly in a photography aspect)

I keep going back and finding new details to look at, they capture the imagination. These don't feel like still scenes, one can almost sense the movement and atmosphere. Wondeful work, I'd love to see more!

Ooh you have a very good eye - I'm using here a film recipe that is loosely based on Kodak Ektar 100
Shot is in 35 mm but was originally landscape.. which I then cropped further as it occurred to me vertical might suit it better 😅

These photos are all gorgeous but the last one in particular just brought so much joy into my otherwise joyless Monday! Thank you for sharing

I really dig both of these, both individually but also juxtaposed as they are in your post!

Lighting the spark of joy and awe of something you already love in somebody else has to be one of the best feelings in the world.

Every once in a while I'll see a shot that'll stop me in my tracks and make me just observe it. This is one of them

I mean. Luck is almost always a factor in unscripted photography but the skill of patience, of being there, noticing the moment, exposing, framing it - all in that brief moment before it's gone forever.. that's work, and that's talent.

Dreamy!

I really didn't like it, despite not having any expectations. Half of the major actions felt completely groundless/unmotivated, pacing was rushed. I didn't think it needed an (unexplained) plot tie to the previous film; to me, it made Rome and the empire feel small. Like a TV drama.

Haha fair enough, but be sure to post results here if you do 😀

I haven't used it but I've seen some very aesthetically pleasing results with it, very dreamlike, but they were all shot in bright daylight with maybe water reflection somewhere in the shot. What's your experience with daylight use?

This was Iceland for me - after every turn on the road I had to blink a couple of times to adjust to the new landscape opening in front of me.. Which lead to so many illegal stops on the shoulder of the road but I couldn't help myslef!

Thanks David! Do you know if the subscription plans are stackable? I have a yearly subscription activated in March and I'm wondering if another yearly subscription will extend it or just supersede the start date?

I had to genuinely take a second to realize what I'm seeing in the 4th one 😀 I really dig the intention and whimsy in all four of them
