Zelensky's dignity is a treasure. Our puerile leadership is a disgrace.

This is the plan, such as there is one. Dismantle our public sector, sell it to the highest bidder, and sprinkle destabilizing and radicalized alt right ideology on top. So fucking gross.

Pausing Vaxart / Next Gen funding is waste. The taxpayer has invested in research to help move the needle on more robust Covid pharma. Vaxart had moved through several smaller trials and was poised to start a large trial. Instead, all that learning and whatever it could have enabled is thrown out.

A fantastic article that lays out many of the uncomfortable truths that most people don’t want to face—and for the most part, the media refuses to report. “Around 18 percent of all U.S. adults have had Long COVID…according to the [CDC].” www.citybureau.org/newswire/lon...

Covid minimizing celebrities grandstanding on 'empathy' is nauseating 🤮

“That is why Trumpists are so focused on “ending DEI” in the federal workforce. They see anti-discrimination and inclusion as a ladder of upward mobility for people they do not believe should have one.”

Context for what’s happening here. open.substack.com/pub/sherrily...

1/ "We had a glimpse of what could be and most people failed to defend it because, truthfully, they wanted normal back too. Normal in this telling not being any kind of civic-minded freedom, but consumptive freedom. Freedom to restaurant & bar & comedy store": open.substack.com/pub/donotpan...

The Biden administration's systematic minimization of Covid and othering of the unvaxxed ('disease of the unvaccinated') and of people who continue to mask (Dem sponsored mask bans, 'masked freaks', 'we have the tools') absolutely paved the way for the current regime's eugenicist agenda.

Bloomberg is reporting that federal workers tasked with approving medical devices for Medicare have reportedly received termination notices. As a wheelchair user who also uses some other assistive devices (canes, shower chairs, that sort of thing) I want to add some context to this.

“The pandemic violently shattered my life and that of my family… I now homeschool my children because I refuse to accept constant illness as normal, we have not stopped masking around others and avoid unnecessary indoor activities.” rochesterbeacon.com/2025/02/13/c...

This framing is their framing, and NYT took the bait. The correct and accurate framing is: “Deep cuts to medical research threatens progress on cancer and heart disease research, costs the economy $80B, and threatens 300,000 jobs across red and blue states”

“Why do I need NOAA? I’ve got a weather app.” Is equivalent to asking “Why do I need farms? I can go to the supermarket.” www.noaa.gov/about-our-ag...

Please stop telling people to wear masks at protests to "hide" their identity. A. Scientifically, it doesn't. B. It undermines the argument that we're doing it primarily to protect our health. C. It invites more mask bans. D. It makes life harder for vulnerable people just trying to live.

Defend yourself: wear a respirator. Defend your community: wear a respirator.

Dickheads of Gargantuan Ego (DOGE) have now gained access to the IT servers at the NOAA. They have taken down several department websites, including the website that stores global CO2 data from observations taken in Hawaii. That data is still accessible here. keelingcurve.ucsd.edu

the other thing about these moves is that the union becomes untenable if your access to the good faith and protection of the national government is contingent on whether you renounce your co-sovereignty as a state and submit to the whims of a president who has claimed sovereign authority

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

Let's all say it out loud. These people are fascists & this is a fascist take-over of the United States. You can couch your words more carefully, but the speed and ferocity of what is happening now is part-and-parcel of a coup. The GOP in Congress has surrendered. The Dems are out of their depth. 1/

Donold is blaming a plane crash that killed 67 people on “DEI” with zero evidence. He is attempting to use racism to deflect from the fact it is HIS fault. He had just removed 100 FAA senior officials. It’s been 11 days and there are 67 bodies in the Potomac in Washington DC because of him.

➡️ January 20: FAA director fired ➡️ January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen ➡️ January 22: Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded ➡️ January 28: Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees ➡️ January 29: First American mid-air collision in 16 years Making America Great Again!

With Indiana becoming the latest state to put forward a mask ban & Trump ordering CDC, FDA and NIH to stop providing public health updates… it’s a good time to remind people to push back on mask bans They’re discriminatory & dangerous. Everyone should have the legal right to protect their health:

Indiana folks: Call your state Senator & tell them to vote NO on new Senate Bill 286, Masks at Public Assemblies; it would make mask wearing at a public assembly a Class C misdemeanor. Then: call the members of the Committee on Corrections & Criminal Law, where the bill now is. Members are... 1/2

What is one simple act of resistance that will absolutely infuriate any authoritarian determined to make the world ignore pandemics and climate change? Wearing a mask.

“I don’t consider myself COVID cautious. I consider myself COVID competent,” Zebrowski said. “Cautious would imply that I have an unreasonable fear of something. I do not have an unreasonable fear of this disease.” Nailed it 🔥

ABC, NBC & CBS dedicated about 16 minutes of airtime last night to the California wildfires without once mentioning climate change. Since the news failed do it's job, here's a short summary of the role of climate change and wildfire risk: www.noaa.gov/noaa-wildfir...

Los Angeles received just 0.16 inches of rain since May 2024, the second-driest period on record. Wildfires are now engulfing the city in January. But some politicians still claim the climate crisis is a "hoax" as they do the bidding of Big Oil. What planet are they living on?
