This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

If I was the NRA, I would be so embarrassed. Imagine spending the past 150 years with the sole purpose of keeping the government from becoming tyrannical and then not doing anything when it actually happens.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die. Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

if i lived in the 1800s and making dinner meant spending every waking hour baking bread and plucking a chicken or whatever and then my husband sat down and said "let's thank god for this meal" i think i'd poison him

Honestly at this point the only thing keeping me going is that my feeds have cute cat videos in between all the breaking news stories. Plane crash- kittens playing- executive order- sassy cat- DOGE BS- talking feline.
