Bitcoin plunging will bite him a little bit. All those crypto morons think he’s a genius.

And they can afford private Christian schools and year round sports training. And trucks and sunglasses.

He’s risen from the most humble of broken family beginnings to the most exclusive club on earth. You can’t fault him for being congenial in retirement. He’s not a young activist. He’s done enough. Did what he could. Trump has skewed all normalcy. Remember who the enemies are, and they’re not Trump.

Mitt Romney’s health plan was the only version that was going to pass legislatively, and it was a huge compromise from his idealistic wishes. Even conservative Democrats were against single payer. And it’s helped millions and was a generational accomplishment. Don’t diminish it. I have family on it.

I have a hard time giving him that much credit. Occam’s razor says he just doesn’t understand this stuff. And he’s so insulated himself with sycophants that none of them speak up.

Shipping containers and a small backhoe will also be worth investing in.

And didn’t I just read that Kamala’s husband’s firm just signed an agreement for pro bono work for the Trump administration?

Huh?

Indeed. Things do appear a bit hopeless at the moment. Especially as Trump becomes increasingly authoritarian, ignoring judges and such while Schumer thinks he playing 3D chess by rolling over. It’s dispiriting.

The MAGA vilification of foreign aid is one of the stranger pieces of this rotten pie.

Funny you bring that up in Tom’s timeline. Ask him his take on that second war. That was my lowest moment in politics until this orange monster.

Does it say anything about all the people that used Musk’s former bird app to identify the participants?

Good. Maybe they’ll get a little angry instead of the malaise that has allowed all this.

I’d love to be optimistic about this but I just don’t have any enthusiasm left. Or even anger. Just kind of a morbid malaise. And I guess that’s what they’re after.

How is anyone going to put fear into them? Trump and Musk, and their minions by default have no fear of anything or anyone.

So, you’re a prophet?

And now we all know how it’s possible to bankrupt a casino.

I think that post leeched over from the ghosts of Twitter.

Thank you for gifting that, Tom. It’s a heavy one and my subscription has lapsed. I also wonder if he fully grasps the gravity of the chamber he’s just entered. This article helps the rest of us consider that.

And he didn’t just promise it recently or since he decided to be a politician, it’s ingrained into his vile core as a broken human. Just google “Trump on revenge”. It’s chilling.

He’s worse than a puppet because he’s actually smarter than most of these morons he’s aligning with. He knows better and is choosing to be this despicable person for access to power. It’s actually more reprehensible than actually being evil by nature.
comment in response to post
This is exactly right. Use the force of all his destructive and antagonistic policies to mobilize the apathetic people that allowed this to fester in our politics. And Democrats need to get a lot better at messaging and take away all his populist rhetoric with more rational solutions to these issues

But sure, Project 2025 wasn’t a thing and Trump knew nothing about it.

There isn’t any nuance. Everything with him is either reactionary (retaliatory) or transactional (corrupt). He’s just sore California is blue and Hollywood largely hates him. They’ll manufacture some other mechanism for supporting political state allies.

As dumb as it sounds I’d say just always remember and employ common sense. They spend so much energy fabricating artificial issues, just try to establish an intellectual baseline for things that are going to negatively affect real, everyday people. You already do an amazing job with transparency.

Who could forget?

The entire party has been reactionary and chasing the wrong things since Trump came down the escalator. They’ve made it easy for him by ignoring common sense topics and chasing fringe issues. It’s maddening.

I like your optimism. You’re going to need it.

What’s the point. No chance he isn’t confirmed. If he’s not the next nominee will be worse. I actually think the only plan now is to let them destroy enough things to enrage the sane people back to activism.

Interesting interpretation of the word hate. 🤔 they’re so thin skinned it’s almost comical.

He’s always pretty savvy to stop a couple key words short of a legal admission. Almost like some famous conman taught him the game.

One of the first things I checked on this platform. Kinda surprised after all that endless chatter on the old Twitter.

Rudy needs to show up and goad them into storming the Capitol.

My only add to that piece of writing is that as true as all that is, we aren’t crossing some arbitrary line tomorrow, we’ve been apathetically sliding towards this for a long time. The internet and social media succumbing to these manipulators was the final push. The last 24hrs with TikTok is proof.

I’m an average person and my life is inextricably woven with people of ambiguous immigration dispositions. The othering of these communities has deeply frightening historical precedent.

I’m worried less about the legality, because Trump has already proven how malleable those concepts are, but what this is going to do to the psychic fabric of this nation. It’s already frayed and tattered, this will likely complete the tear.

Welcome to Bluesky, I guess. The last leftist app on the planet.

It’s also so brutally transparent. Naming him directly in the offline screen is like all caps for the technologically illiterate.
