Your School House Rock moment......

Good morning! It’s a perfect day to realize that the politics you’re used to are gone and never coming back so you can either think about what you want the future to look like and try to build toward that or keep trying to wishcast the country back to 1998 and be part of the problem.

people will make fun of ancient civilization for consulting oracles and cutting up livers to tell the future and then type “what is the meaning of life?” into ChatGPT

I saw someone post, apparently seriously, “we don’t need NOAA, we can just ask ChatGPT to predict where and when hurricanes will hit.” I don’t think we should sentence thousands of people to death because some overconfident buffoons don’t understand how science works. 🤷

Allow me to address the elephant in the room: The decades-long outsourcing of domestic manufacturing to China was not an insidious Chinese conspiracy for dominance but the greedy strategy of the American ruling class to explode its profit margins by exploiting global inequality.

It's not that everyone "deserves" due process. It is that everyone in this country is GUARANTEED due process. It is not a matter of deserving it. It is a matter of law. I realize in some ways its a distinction without a difference, but I feel like we turn "deserve" into a measure not a fact.

The Net Gala 2025 was even better than 2024, and that was awesome enough I came back this year. The venue, the art, the fashion, all phenomenal. Living life out loud, intentionally, and as fearlessly as I can.

Said to me, about me, when I said I’m on my way to NYC “you're like a fucking quantum particle -- no one ever knows exactly where you are” 🤣✈️🤣🍎🤣🎨🤣🗽🤣 Not true! I location-share with 6 people!

When a government cancels a $50 million suicide hotline for LGBTQ teens, but keeps its $92 million birthday parade for its president, it is no longer a great, or even a good country. It’s a tinpot dictatorship.

ProTips for your future Black Hat conference submissions: ✅ Remove the sentence stating "Claude may make mistakes, please check your answers" ✅ Consider not putting your company's literal product name in the title when you're trying to sneak in a sales pitch disguised as a tech talk

Just got warned that the new "Voice Isolation" feature in Teams, if turned on and trained on a male voice, will filter out all the women in the room, while still allowing the men in the room to be heard online. *clears throat* IF YOU USE A BIASED TRAINING SET, YOUR TECHNOLOGY WILL BE BIASED.

People aren’t broke because they’re “splurging” on iPhones and lattes, people are broke because corporations have bought up housing, control our healthcare, and are gouging at the register.

Here is the Disabled American Veterans response to “iGolf Shitler’s” push for Veterans Day be renamed to “Victory Day for World War I.” Make sure to read the whole thing….they actually make a very compelling argument. www.dav.org/learn-more/n...

Not satire. Fast track to talk rejection if you can’t be bothered to QA your submission, why should we believe you will deliver better quality on stage?

I’m so confused by the folks who said that raising the minimum wage would increase the price of every day goods while also being okay with tariffs raising the price of every day goods… I reckon they are okay paying higher prices as long as it doesn’t help anyone making a minimum wage.

Been having a debate in my own head about which implication here is more fucking stupid: A) Every fentanyl pill that enters the U.S. kills five people, or B) If unchecked, fentanyl would kill every living person in America in less than one year It's close, but I think it's A).

Spent the week in SFO not attending RSA but spending time with friends after work. I didn’t take many selfies this trip, but y’all know 🫶

I am a nerd, so I tend to notice and get curious about things that other people might not notice. What caught my attention here is the use of the phrase “non public areas” as well as the phrase “refuses to allow”. Good on ya, Greyhound.

The fact that employees knew and the company shipped the feature anyway is a failing of corporate responsibility and ethics. So gross.

Well this is handy…

YOLO Get the tattoo Go to the white dress dance party Go to NYC for the art show Fuck yes or no

Lol just realized I’m in Vancouver 1 day before CanSecWest and didn’t even realize it. Going home tomorrow afternoon after work though, I was here for something else today… www.instagram.com/crysalexart ❤️

the simple joy of not sharing your fries!

Remember the days when this would have been the most embarrassing news coming out of the US that week? I yearn for those simpler times. www.axios.com/2025/04/21/c...

Old North Church in Boston last night on the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's ride.

This is literally the best possible outcome

My ex husband just reminded me that people are being disappeared off the streets into unmarked vans and hidden in detention centers without access to legal counsel so maybe my outrage is focused in the wrong place It doesn’t happen often but I FUCKING HATE WHEN HE IS RIGHT

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

Louder for the folks in back

I’m speaking up in support of @thekrebscycle.bsky.social & @sentinelone.com Cybersecurity should be a non-partisan issue that unites us in our shared mission to defend our country. National security can’t afford the chilling effect on both public & private sector www.lutasecurity.com/post/in-supp...

I agree. In a functioning democracy, we would already be in the midst of an impeachment trial.

Infosec must not remain silent while Trump goes after Chris Krebs: www.eff.org/deeplinks/20...

@kimzetter.bsky.social is absolutely correct. I studied behavioral psychology and public health. I went to grad school and dreamed of being an epidemiologist. I am not an epidemiologist. I have used what I learned in college EVERY DAY of my 22 year career in infosec. #multidisciplinary
