You're not entirely wrong there but there is absolutely an element of "I'm superior" going on here. The reason "gay = bad" is because it's a "violation" of the hierarchy. "men" are not supposed to be the "submissive" participant but they're still at least "men". It's stupid but it has thought too.

The existence of trans women threatens the legitimacy of their patriarchal mindset. These are people who view women as lesser subservient creatures, created specifically for them. The existence of trans women brings light to fact that being a woman is actually something one can aspire to.

Partly because trans men (in their minds) do not threaten their "order of things". To them it's only natural for a "weak, inferior woman" to want to be a man. This is something they can downplay and infantilize. It's a lot harder for them to understand why a "man" would socially die to be a woman.

I live in Africa. Maybe the US is respected a lot more by the people they're usually protecting and enabling but I don't know many people who have ever had a lot of respect for the US. The US is kinda getting what it usually dishes out. I only feel for the decent Americans who legit don't deserve it

South African here: There's a reason a family that made their fortune exploiting unprotected working class people in Apartheid South Africa immediately jumped ship to the US specifically the moment Apartheid ended. The US's treatment of working people is well known outside the US.

There's that too, yes. A lot of white South Africans were not okay with Apartheid and not only voted to end it when given the chance but also actively protested the Apartheid government at risk to their own personal safety. Foreign sanctions weren't the only or even main reason Apartheid ended.

The EFF are an extremist party who do not hold power. You're acting like South Africa is unique in having those. The US and Europe are hardly lacking in political hate groups. The US is literally run by Christian extremist fascists right now. We acknowledge our problems. The US covers theirs up.

Apartheid was a disgusting stain on South Africa's history and it still has consequences for the country today but I feel I should point out to Americans that our native population is still mostly alive. You butchered yours and then stole people from Africa. You aren't on the moral high ground.

White South African here (albeit not an Afrikaner). There's no "white genocide" happening in ZA. Yeah, farm attacks do happen but it's no more common than any other criminal activity. Those farms were and continue to be worked predominantly by under paid black people.

I'm beyond worried for the sane amongst you and of course for the minority groups that are going to be on the sharp end of Trump's madness. I hope this horror show ends up being a catalyst for positive change in the end but I strongly suspect a lot of people are going to be hurt first. Stay safe!

They view trans women specifically as a threat to male dominion. To them, trans men are just "poor, manipulated girls" or at best, they're "proof" that being a man is better than being a woman. Trans women on the other hand are inconvenient evidence that being a woman is worth dying for.

It's intentional. Those responsible are counting on the nut cases to commit violence against the "targets" on their behalf whilst they can maintain "plausible deniability" for themselves. You know, the kind of deniability that only ever seems to fool the "justice system" some some reason.
