The U.S. should've been placed on this watch list long ago for various other reasons. The current administration underscores the glaring contradictions between its proclaimed moral principles & its actions, esp. in the context of self-righteous Christian values. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

"The Ice Queen" melts tariffs, not principles. Sheinbaum talks, Trump yields (again), Mexico wins—again. Cool heads prevail.❄️🇲🇽 "Pobre México, tan lejos de Dios y tan cerca de Estados Unidos." --Anónimo

Concerned about privacy and personal data protection in this increasingly autocratic environment in the United States? www.linkedin.com/posts/lpixa_...

As I highlighted before: The more Trump pulls America away from liberal democracies, the more our own democracy withers. Cozying up to autocracies like Russia? We risk becoming one; we all lose. 🔥 thehill.com/opinion/whit...

Per my own professional & individual experiences, Wolff’s 5-min analysis captures the US decline, driven by structural economic, ideological factors. The downturn is inevitable, leaving individuals with limited options: an affluent US enclave or stability abroad. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqds...

Governor Walz has it right. I miss hearing his plain, common sense talk.

Try not to consume at least one day?

I sense he will be as toxic to the Trump brand as he already is to the Tesla brand.

Traitor? In a month, Trump amplified Russian propaganda, aligned with Russia in Ukraine, undermined allies, assaulted the Constitution, and enforced two-tiered justice—shielding allies (Jan. 6 rioters, Blagojevich) while targeting foes (Fauci, Pompeo, Bolton). www.sltrib.com/opinion/comm...

I like this version of the image going around, it should be TeSSla now.

⚡ Malicious Compliance Works; given the oppt'y, do it: =>Forces authoritarians to face the consequences of their own rules. => legal—resisters can't be punished for following the law. =>Exposes oppressive policies to public scrutiny. =>Uses bureaucracy against itself to slow and reveal injustice.

In summary, IMHO, use caution driving a political statement in the US, with or without bumper stickers. With road-rage a rampant thing these days, Americans can be violent and carry weapons of all sorts, beware and be safe. www.democraticunderground.com/100220068513

I wonder how this might trend with human-generated sources? www.theverge.com/news/617799/...

I saw this in the privileged retired mostly trump-supporting US military officer class where my parents lived in Texas, all fat and comfortable living off their retirement checks, social security, and "disability" allowances with an immigrant class waiting on them (nurses/doctors, service staff).

Long live the clown! 🤣

📣Keep the pressure on. Stand strong against oligarch overreach—your voice matters. insideevs.com/news/750076/...

Rep. Crockett needs to get more play; her ability to cut to the bone speaks to the direct Texan storytelling, truth-saying roots of my own family. www.youtube.com/shorts/gEgOt...

I don't typically align with Bill Burr, but sometimes views can meet some common ground: "Billionaires are dividing people and distracting people with political arguments about left versus right... ....This is just such an ugly fucking time." -Bill Burr He did say much worse than this too.

Congratulations to rightwing anti-vax forces: you've reintroduced a deadly, vaccine preventable disease back into American society.

I deleted my Meta accounts—Facebook & Instagram—this week. We don’t need to support unethical/corrupt oligarchs that monetize our data & manipulate us under the guise of "free" services. Use other avenues for connectivity. Back up your data & press delete. fortune.com/2025/02/13/l...

Same applies to the political party divide in the United States. #WillfulDenial

This is pretty funny.

...and, a lot of other people lied on his behalf.

Complicity.

They will halt on January 20, 2025 when Trump takes office, noting the “threat to democracy and freedom of expression posed by the cooperation between the president of the most powerful country in the world, Donald J. Trump, and the richest man in the world, Elon Musk…”

This NAS report highlights transformative convergence of biotechnology, AI, & automation for defense & global partnerships. The proposed BioCATALYST network invites allied collaboration, shaping ethical norms & safeguarding against misuse, advancing shared security & innovation. lnkd.in/eT-FiTGt

Curious. Enshittification: I can think of many uses of this word these days. www.theguardian.com/science/2024...

Microsoft spin cycle: innovation paired with controversial biz practices. While transformed, its competitive drive and market dominance still raise ethical concerns, esp in AI & open source. Though “there was rivalry... and unpleasant, powerful men,” I'm grateful for my own time there.

Raw unvarnished truth here.

So far this seems to be true. Come on folks, beef up the substantive posts and information flows!
