I’m a generalist and polyhobbyist and I like building beautiful things that last. Here, I mostly talk about comics, ttrpgs, minipainting, and anything else that’s weird and wonderful in the universe. 🪐

So here's the deal: every time you repost this, I spend a good minute staring at it, it's so cool. This time, I decided enough is enough, and went to check my LCS's online store. Miraculously there were two copies left. I ordered one of them. I can't wait for it to get here. 😍

Yep. Same.

I gladly wait if it means you don't grind yourself into dust. It's more important to me that the artists behind my favorite books are doing okay than receiving issues "on schedule." I'm only one reader but as far as I'm concerned, take all the time you need. And congrats on becoming a parent!

Sure that's a neat sword, but can we please talk about those excellently executed eyes? Crisp job. 👏👏👏

I'm playing Persona 3 Reload on the Steam Deck and it's a blast. And by blast, I mean it's a sometimes wacky, but often poignant story of loss, found families, and growing up. With a kick-ass soundtrack, of course.

I just started listening to the wonderful If Books Could Kill podcast. You're Wrong About alum Michael Hobbes and lawyer Peter Shamshiri tackles the question 'What if pop science books would have peer review?' The answer is pretty damning for the books but great fun for us, listeners.

Maybe there's reason for cautious optimism too? As the mass market infrastructure collapses, we might get back to the original ethos of the net — average people building worthwhile spaces. Right now we're fleeing to silos but if the early web is any indication, we'll figure out ways to connect them.

I, for one, appreciate when my professional contacts have a ✨ flair for the dramatic. ✨

Great to hear! Take your time. And congrats on the launch — reading The Verge without ads is ridiculously good. I swear, even the scroll feels smoother.

I love Banks. Against a Dark Background is one of my favorite books.

I would subscribe to this so fast, I’d leave a me-shaped hole in the internet.

I’m unreasonably excited for this video. I’m going to use it on my NPCs too.

It’s probably also worth mentioning that humankind’s ability to create intersubjective realities is also a big piece of the puzzle. I first learned of it in Harari’s Sapiens, but if you don’t have time for a whole book, here’s a quick essay exploring the idea:

It also made me think about @naomioreskes.bsky.social and @erikconway.bsky.social’s excellent book, Merchants of Doubt, that I think adds another layer to understanding why it’s easier to create all kinds of “realities” today.

Not gonna lie, I sometimes pull this out of the shortbox to admire it when I’m filing my newly read comics. 😅

Hard agree. So far, all issues were 10s for me.

Watched it, loved it. 😍 The overall setting is a bit too much for a scaredy cat like me, but I’m looking forward to a Trench Crusade mini painted in the Rogue Hobbies style. 😊 Also, I will have to buy the Artillery Witch. That sculpt is wicked.

Was one of those realizations for me that seemed small at the time, yet turned out to have a huge impact on my ability to pace the game. Replacing inconsequential rolls with simple narration sped us up and allowed the consequential rolls extra breathing room.

Ah, great, thanks! I’ve been waiting for this since I really have no idea what Trench Crusade is and at this point I’m afraid to ask.

😳 Not gonna lie, man: this comment might get framed and put up on the wall. 😅 Joking aside, thanks! And huge thanks to you and your insanely good collaborators for both Helen of Wyndhorn and Wonder Woman. They are the jewels of my pull list.

P.S. Had to repost this because as it turns out, Walt’s is not on Bluesky yet. An impostor grabbed their handle. So I removed it from the original post.

I can confirm this anecdotally. I had a villain in one campaign who became a love interest for one of the characters, then a tentative ally of the party. She was one of the players’ favorite element.

Thanks! I have to tell you that I’ve been procrastinating on watching your video about gunplas because I fear that I’ll immediately buy a ton of new plastic crack for the pile of potential. 😅

Thanks! Dragon Age was one of my favorite games growing up. I’m super excited for Veilguard. Hope you’ll have a great time too. 😊

That looks tasty. 🔥 Question: did you prime and repaint it entirely like you would a mini, or did you use the plastic colors as midtone, and added highlights, shading, and chipping?

I’ve been on Threads since the day it came to Europe. I’ve been on Bluesky for two days, and already had way more fun. 🤷♂️
