👇🎯 When people show (& tell) you who they are, over & over & over & over again, believe them. This one simple, easily adopted trick unlocks so many clarifying insights about our current political age. It is the foundational principle behind the undefeated Dennis Green Unified Theory Of 🇺🇸 Politics:

I’m going to be angry for a very long time about how this time in history made it feel like being a good person was somehow political

You know where you can go and not worry about breaking the economic blackout today? Your local library! All those books and you won’t spend a penny!

There it is! "Putin went through a hell of a lot with me. He went through a phony witch hunt." He is referring to them weathering their collusion becoming public, and now is the big payback: together until the end.

UNDERSTAND THE ASSIGNMENT: tomorrow, February 28th, is the Economic Blackout. I ain’t buying shit. Plan ahead, but if you must buy essentials, use cash and support local businesses only. No corporate chains!

You could not have written any of this in a novel or a tv show unless the genre was “bizarre dystopian parody” - and even then the reviews would have likely pointed out that it was all a bit much. It would all be immensely funny if it wasn’t so dangerous.

Mistakes that leave us vulnerable to medical, military, environmental, & cybersecurity threats can't be fixed "very quickly" -- or even at all. But narcissistic sociopaths like Trump & Musk can't quantify human impact of their policies, because they do not understand why any of that even matters.

The fact that the USA has banned visas for trans people but welcomed rapist Andrew Tate shows how all this "defending women" stuff is total bullshit

elon musk, the world's richest man, unilaterally deciding that lifesaving relief for children on the verge of starvation is "wasteful" while he personally reaps hundreds of millions from the us government, makes me feel things i cannot write on the internet.

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett continues to be on point and on fire in her messaging. We desperately need this from more of her Democratic colleagues!

I can definitely try and get behind this line of thinking...

Listen I know shit sucks but PLEASE find the things that make you happy and keep doing them. It is not frivolous. It is how you survive.

The flying public needs answers. How many FAA personnel were just fired? What positions? And why?

Glad The Last Of Us is coming back because it’ll be relaxing to watch a future less bleak than ours.

This should be exceedingly obvious, but when Stonewall stays up while references to trans people come down, they will measure the silence of cisgender people as concurrence for whatever they plan next, and it still won't protect you in the end. So please get loud. Our mutual survival depends on it.

This is fucked up.

The Stonewall Riots happened because trans people, particularly of color, rose up against state violence. You can’t even begin to tell the story without our trans ancestors and elders. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/13/n...

You almost wish the Founding Fathers would have written some sort of document that would have established three separate and independent bodies of government to check and balance each other so that no one person could become a tyrant by taking over the entire government.

A lot of times when I post about gender violence, people respond saying women should carry guns and shoot men who try to abuse and assault them. Here’s a brief thread on why I think this is a really bad suggestion

Young enough to do a little racism on social media, old enough to access the Treasury system routing $5 trillion in annual funds

ELON IS ALLOWED IN THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. NOT YOUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES OR STUDENTS & PARENTS. I WILL BE BACK.

Be kind to your neurodivergent friends. These are not great times for people with justice sensitivity and a tendency towards overwhelm.

I wince at people calling every single thing a distraction. Even if it is a distraction it’s still 1) a thing that is actually happening 2) a thing that is hurting people 3) a thing that also needs to be fought and illuminated “It’s just a distraction”feels so dismissive.

My latest. As journalists and writers, we have a duty to use language that is accurate and describes our current reality. I’m no longer going to talk about DEI/Anti-DEI. Let’s be clear. We are facing racial purges and re-segregation. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

Is Trump ever going to get the “mentally unfit” treatment from the press that Biden got?

How are y'all dealing with the cognitive dissonance of much of your daily life continuing as normal right now even as really really really bad shit is happening in government (that will certainly have ripple effects that will reach us all)? Because I'm honestly feeling a little insane right now.

Go. To. The. Treasury. And. Demand. Entry. You are the ranking member on the Senate Finance Committee.

We're three separate countries now: the fascist thugs and their supporters, who have enacted a successful coup, the engaged and aware populace that knows it's under siege and is fighting to survive, and those in self-denial and willful ignorance who are acting as if nothing significant has changed.

Democratic lawmakers need to understand something: Imagine your house is on fire. Fire truck shows up. Firefighters get out. They look at the fire, then at you, and say: "Such a fire is a grave threat. This house will not sustain." And just stand there. This is how many of you are coming across.

This whole "It's just a distraction" line of thinking needs to die. They are genocidal bastards hellbent on eradicating the trans community. It's not a god damn distraction. This is what they stand for and you're running cover for it by minimizing it.

Cis folks, check on your trans friends right now. I don't ever think I've seen this many friends in crisis. It's beyond anything I ever imagined. We're not ok.

I think everyone should get to know the west African term “wahala”. It generally means “chaos”, “confusion”, or “drama”. A clusterfuck. I’ve been on a mission for years to use it more regularly in my work. Because—- *gestures at everything* See wahala?!???
