🇺🇲 Veterans fought for this country. Now, DOGE is making them fight for their jobs, their benefits, and even their health care. This is a disgrace! Speak out. Fight back. DOGE screws Veterans. Tipline for veterans who've been affected by this administration's cuts ➡️ votevets.org/doge-tipline.

BREAKING: A federal judge in California has ordered OPM to rescind memos calling for the mass termination of probationary employees, saying the agency overstepped its legal authority and must inform other agencies it lacked the authority to issue such a directive.

I’ve been saying for over two decades there is no better bargain in the area of national defense than a proactive response to the threat of H5N1. Finally, someone was willing to do it…and now, of course, the GOP wants to kill it.

If they truly believed they were saving America they'd be celebrating in the streets, not canceling town halls and hiding from their constituents.

Wondering if the idea here is that Dems will bargain for the jobs of civil servants — as if the party takes a big win if Republicans decide against crippling the government they control and breaking the law.

We’re all-in on electing @crawfordforwi.bsky.social and stopping Elon Musk from buying a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. @ezralevin.bsky.social explains why this upcoming election is a big deal for anybody who cares about our democracy. Let’s get to work: indivisible.org/scowis2025

I logged onto LinkedIn today expecting to see my feed filled with outrage from the lawyer connections I have – most of whom are former federal government attorneys who now work outside the federal government in private practice or in the private sector. Per a Tuesday Executive Order, /1

Again, folks seem not to grasp how much this is a total collapse of the Constitutional order. A random private citizen is running the "Cabinet" meeting of POTUS & the Principal Officers of the Executive Departments, & going around unplugging large portions of the government. And we're all just 🤷‍♂️

This is stunningly lawless. There is no basis for an administrative stay. The Trump admin was ordered to comply with a TRO to preserve the status quo, flouted it for weeks, and ran to SCOTUS asserting that State & USAID can't make payments that they clearly can.

You know what Republican officials eally hate? They hate being protested by their own constituents at airports and public places. If they refuse to schedule town halls, I suspect people will probably find them where they can. www.cnn.com/2021/01/08/p...

Wisconsin's Supreme Court election on April 1 could determine how voters cast ballots in elections for years to come, as well as having huge consequences for abortion rights, healthcare access, & other civil rights in the state. Encourage your WI friends to vote. Pls chip in! www.crawfordforwi.com

Every single Democratic governor and attorney general needs to do this -- if only to make it clear to voters *right now* that the firings and funding freezes that are about to hurt their states badly are the work of Trump-Musk in Washington. Get ahead of this now, or get blamed for it later.

Among the relevant questions in the litigation alleging that Musk unconstitutionally wields the power of a “principal officer”: 1. Does Musk have the power to hire and fire people? 2. Is Musk supervised by someone other than the president and is that person a Senate-confirmed officer?

this is precisely the correct energy. If Republicans are going to hide from their constituents while voting to slash medicaid and give billionaires tax cuts, Democrats need to take the fight directly to them and their constituents.

NEW on CNN: The Trump White House’s new Homeland Security point man hosted a podcast that tweeted for “secession” and “martial law” after Trump lost in 2020. The official, Paul Ingrassia, also shared an article calling for a “martial law option” to keep in office.. www.cnn.com/2025/02/26/p...

RFK Jr: "We have measles outbreaks every year.” Buddy this was the first measles death in a decade

So increasing the minimum wage to a livable wage is “socialism”? But Amazon union busting, keeping wages low, and forcing workers onto public assistance while its founder increases his net worth by $7.9M an hour is the "free market"? Perhaps this could be a WaPo opinion piece.

Make Sepsis Great Again

When Elon’s boss gets back from her vacation south of the border, will she run the cabinet meetings?

This man is barely even a formal government employee, let alone elected or Senate-confirmed. A total failure of the Constitutional order, just broadcast & normalized by every major media outlet.

Yes, this Cabinet — with a Fox & Friends drunk, a Real World airhead, a former heroin addict who beheaded a whale, a dog killer, a Russian stooge, a scandal-plagued wrestling executive, etc — this Cabinet is LITERALLY the best America has ever had. Thank you for that insight, Elon. Smart as ever.

Utterly pathetic. Take 30 seconds and listen to this. So fucking pathetic.👇

Put plainly, Musk has wasted 48 hours of the federal government’s time to fuck with people’s heads under the guise of achieving greater efficiency.

JUST IN: Merit Systems Protection Board stays Trump administration firing of 6 probationary employees, following complaint from @US_OSC. Doc: democracyforward.org/wp-content/u... Earlier: www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

This is extremely, extremely bad. Our legal system cannot function if the govt retaliates — and if courts allow it to retaliate — against lawyers who take matters the govt disfavors.

The job of the government isn’t to “produce federal revenue” the job is meeting the needs of the people. Refuse to engage in a debate about the profitability of providing people’s needs through public resources.

House Republicans just voted to gut Medicaid, which covers 1 in 5 Americans overall, including 41% of births and 63% of nursing home care. They also just voted to gut SNAP, on which 41 million food insecure Americans rely. This won’t just harm people. This will kill people. They own this.

We love merit, don’t we folks?

Yep, the TRO obtained by Hampton Dellinger is a very big deal because it is allowing him to do things like this: issuing opinions that the firing of government employees as Musk is doing it is illegal.

Army Choir surrounded the MAGA hierarchy dining in White House East Room to sing "Do You Hear The People Sing" It was lost on Trump but Vance was super fidgety "Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men? It is the music of the people who will not be slaves again" #DisruptTheCoup

Government efficiency is when every federal agency has to send a daily emergency email to its workers telling them to ignore another daily email from a different department trying to fire them without knowing what their jobs are.

Interesting timing here between this and OPM's reversal. I'd bet cash money that DoJ got this motion for sanctions on Sunday, called OPM to tell them to knock it the fuck off, and then today OPM accordingly knocked it the fuck off.

Never forget these people are losers. slate.com/news-and-pol...

“How much time and energy has been wasted over this pointless fucking email?”

Big Deal: The office of special counsel, the head of which Trump recently tried to fire before being blocked by a judge, has issued an opinion which suggests that many of the recent firings are unlawful. The details here matter. So def read the piece. www.govexec.com/workforce/20...

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source. Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

they see the stew of loyalty tests/ fear/ chaos and isolation as win-win. That real government workers do essential work is wholly invisible to them

CAIR: “Anyone who see the word “Islam" in the name of an American charity and immediately declares the charity must be a "terrorist organization" is a hateful person who must know next to nothing about American Muslims & their contributions” www.cair.com/press_releas...

NEW: Fed. judge grants a TRO against DOGE "affiliates" that blocks them from accessing PII—including SSNs, DOBs, demographic info, etc.—at Education Department and OPM. Denies a TRO for accessing Treasury info as unnecessary bc of a TRO in a separate case. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

A president rapidly sundowning into full-blown dementia ambiguously handed power over the entire government to a delusional billionaire drug addict in a made-up illegal quasi-office and the Cabinet is split over whether their departments have to listen to his mad orders. It's day 34.

Leon dumped his human shield.

The really weird, but also quite telling, thing about the DOGE email chaos is that it's been more than a day and the White House hasn't resolved it. With a single post, Trump could make it abundantly clear whether he wants the email obeyed or not, and whether Musk's word-via-DOGE is "law" or not.

Let’s get something clear. The GOP has the power to keep the government from shutting down in March. They control both chambers of Congress and the White House. If they can’t reach a budget deal within their own ranks, that completely on them. Dems: Don’t lift a finger to help them. Not one.
