I have no idea—the two most recent responses I got were from art teachers, who seem to think if you only steal words, it’s fine (but evil to steal art). Like I’m in this art business class and I barely go on the platform now because I find it so disgusting.

Just saw this like three posts above yours…we’re totally wrecking ourselves as people! People I tell about AI’s problems are doing the online equivalent of a blank stare then going “but I want to use it to succeed. I want you to succeed too” and there’s just…no connection I can make for them somehow

I just remembered what that makes me think of—for some reason a lot of tv/movies pronounced Texas “Tex-ASS” and it drives me bonkers! Really the only case where it’s acceptable is Miss Congeniality because it’s purposefully creepy! (I lived in TX for my 20s and still have bits of accent.)

Despite not enjoying Cher (her voice just doesn’t work for my ears), I wholeheartedly agree! It’s like when artists suddenly endorse AI!

My other thing was being a huge classical person—I was quite good at the clarinet and conducted marching band and all that, so the shitty musicianship always pissed me off. Autotune makes me want to scream! (I still have shitty teenage favs, but they aren’t 90s boybands and I know their flaws haha)

Is it any wonder than by 18 I had completely fallen off the radio track and immersed myself in the 60s and 70s (and since our big university concert that year was the P Funk Allstars, much of the year was also We Want the Funk?). I got on the alt track in hs but by college lived in the musical past!

I was a freshman in high school in 98, and for reasons passing understanding, our gym teacher made us spend 75% of the year walking the track. There were three conversational options: BSB, NSync, Hansen. I literally spent almost every day of that year walking alone bc I couldn’t take it anymore!

Ah ok! I stopped listening to the radio around 2001 so my music tastes are interesting, but contemporary white pop is just so boring.

Why 1993? (I am not a contemporary pop person save random one offs from my teen years, though I also am not an 80s pop person for the most part honestly!)

If I did this based on food allergies I would be completely classless haha—I absolutely cannot eat most of what was there anymore between my celiac dx a decade ago and the related nightshade intolerance. Hard to crave something that hurts even in your head to eat!

Yeah I can’t imagine how it breaks their system to leave out meat altogether—I confused it with hating sloppy joes and roe burgers simultaneously, but there was very little non meat on there! (And I’ve been burned too many times by weird mac and cheese, which also defies class haha.)

my entire life, the main source of "feeling unsafe" has been white men cornering and sexually harassing me and all my life i've heard that's just how it is. at this point i don't have a lot of sympathy for you pissing yourself when a Black man or a woman in hijab sits next to you on the bus

This is how we get to my being officially classified as an antisemitic Jew by parts of the government btw—Christian Zionists have decided my politics are wrong, so they’ve declared themselves the Judaism police (while declaring it’s not antisemitic to say “Jews killed Jesus”). All vibes, no facts.

Ok this list is completely illegitimate it has *Dulles* in the top 50. Dulles is horrifying! Dulles is all extremely long corridors where you feel like you’re lost the entire time, parking garages that feel like they’re in a different state. Nat’l is like sardines where you’re on a stopwatch.

National is hell? Like wtaf. (And frankly, despite knowing it’s probably in the style guide, it’s upsetting for the DC paper to use the Presidential moniker instead of calling it “National” like all good denizens of DC.)
