ProPublica looked into science grants that Ted Cruz's team flagged as "radical" and "neo-Marxist" and, uh. This would be good comedy if it didn't matter so much www.propublica.org/article/ted-...

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell. This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

Medicaid covers... -40% of births nationwide -50% of kids with special needs -72 million people in total Remember this as Republicans move to gut the program to finance tax cuts that will overwhelmingly go to the richest 1% of Americans.  "Party of family values."

In many schools, these never went away tho they did adapt to new tools and technologies, and even expand to include girls.

The trolley problem. The impossible problem.

I really can’t tell the real Onion from real life any more. And I don’t think the problem is me

So Musk’s people, who misread $8 million as $8 billion, who counted the same contracts multiple times and counted as savings programs that ended last year, claim that their AI is finding lots of Social Security fraud. Why should anyone worry?

This is important. It's called a learning moment for a member of congress. We need many more. And we will have them.

If you need an encouraging word

After playing a fictional member of the Resistance a long time ago, I never could have imagined it ever happening in real life, but here we are.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F. 18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it. We made this website to tell our story: 18f.org

Way to go Vermont www.politicususa.com/p/jd-vance-f...

Nice try, but unclear on the concept

Call it what it is.

NEW: Senator Marshall (R-KS) RUNS AWAY, fleeing his own town hall after being asked about DOGE firing Veterans. MAKE HIM GO VIRAL.

No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.

Ring around the potus, we all fall down

“Friday, February 28, 2025, will go into the history books as one of the grimmest days in American diplomacy,” writes @radiofreetom.bsky.social. Now “Putin, along with other dictators around the world, can finally look at Trump with confidence and think: one of us”: theatln.tc/FHJeRVAj

Now we know? Because somehow we didn’t know when he told us about it coming?

THIS is why Democratic leaders must be replaced sooner rather than later. 9:42 AM: Amy Klobuchar posts a photo with Lindsey Graham bragging about her "bipartisan meeting" and how they "stand with Ukraine" 1:40 PM: Lindsey Graham is on Fox News "trashing Zelenskyy and praising Trump and Vance"

It seems a small thing, but so much depends on this little card, and students’ ability to get to school and to get around this city. Which is huge

NEW: A majority of voters (57%) think Trump’s FAA firings are making air travel less safe. www.dataforprogress.org/blog/2025/2/...

Here come the “multiplier effects”: STANFORD UNIV.: “Given the uncertainty, we need to take prudent steps to limit spending .. we are implementing a freeze on staff hiring in the university.” news.stanford.edu/stories/2025...

This is so good. Elon Musk is throwing a bunch of money into the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, and his PAC launched an attack ad... against an person unrelated to the race with the same name as one of the candidates. wisconsinexaminer.com/briefs/musk-...

Measles top Page One. @usatoday.com

Accountability really can matter. Especially if people can actually count

brb riding my John Deere tractor to Costco using my Apple maps... 🚜

Covid, flu, measles. . Waiting for frogs and locusts

Well dang when John Deere says no

This is going to kill so many people for no reason.

Freedom of the press? Reminder that freedoms are earned, not necessarily given. And sometimes worth fighting for.

Accidents down 55% and injuries down 51% since nyc congestion pricing (!!!) www.nydailynews.com/2025/02/22/c...

Lost in some of the outrage over this is that Trump's pick is LITERALLY unqualified. The law says a Chairman has to have been a vice chair, a service chief or held a combatant command. Caine hasn't done any of those and I don't think he was even the senior service general at a combatant command.

While speaking about working remotely let’s be reminded that Donald has spent the past four days on a golf course. www.cnn.com/2025/02/18/p...

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

@booker.senate.gov I hope you will add your name to this letter supporting educational research.

The President and the republican members of New York's congressional delegation - I'm looking at you Mike Lawler, Nicole Malliotakis, Andrew Garbarino and Nick LaLota - just blew a $16 billion hole in the most important transit system in the nation.

"You should have never started it" -- Trump to Ukraine, which very much did not start the war

Michelle King, the acting commissioner of the Social Security Administration, left her job this weekend after a clash with billionaire Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service over its attempts to access sensitive government records, people familiar with her departure said.

Resistance is brewing in Trump’s Department of Justice! When federal prosecutors were told to drop corruption charges against Eric Adams, they didn’t just back down, they resigned in protest. 👏 And it's not the only hurdle Trump has faced this week.

Anticipatory compliance may be the worst of this . . But then again, worse may be on the way.
