Resistance is brewing in Trump’s Department of Justice! When federal prosecutors were told to drop corruption charges against Eric Adams, they didn’t just back down, they resigned in protest. 👏 And it's not the only hurdle Trump has faced this week.

Whether the federal prosecutors are fired by Felon47 or Muskrat, or they leave of their own volition, Felon47 or Muskrat will replace them with loyal flunkies and then where does that leave our justice system?
Read the letter to Bondi. Sassoon did all she could and technically didn't resign but said she was prepared to resign. As I understand the judge needs to approve the dismissal and this letter will make it harder for DOJ to get that approval. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/25526481-sassoon-letter/
The weak run away. They won't stand for what they believe in. Typical leftist behavior. All set to kick ass until it's time to kick ass. Than they run away...
Exactly! Doesn't seem like a win when they'll simply appoint someone who will do their bidding. They don't care if the good people quit, they probably prefer it.
There is not an infinite number of lawyers who agree with trump ignoring the rule of law. If there was, they would have just fired them instead is trying to coerce.
It'll be difficult to fill those roles, and whomever they do get will be bottom barrel awful who will lose a lot.
Except resigning helps them. Resistance is staying, refusing to do anything that doesn't make legal sense, speaking out while on the job, going to jail if necessary. Resigning provides personal relief, that's all it does.
Just because you don't see the flames doesn't mean the Reichstag isn't burning. This is an electronic coup by Trump & his brownshirts. The mob is with him. Our only hope is resistance & that the U.S. military will refuse illegal orders & support legitimate court decisions. All is not lost...yet.
Explain to me how resigning helps. Honestly. Cant he then appoint some bootlicker in the position, and now there’s NO pushback? I need help understanding this.
Pam Bondi is a corrupt criminal. Filed a complaint re: a fraudulent seller in Florida. Many calls & letters later, I was told Pam Bondi told staff complaints from California are a "no priority!" BONDI IS CORRUPT SCUM!
The resignations are just the honorable attorneys making room for the deplorables. That's happening throughout our government, as Trump/Musk continue to shape it to their liking; not to the nation's needs.
Congress needs to realize our democracy is more important than their individual power trips and DO SOMETHING to wrest its Constitutional powers back from Presidents Musk and Trump. Before it's too late.
You have not learned anything in the past 8 years have you. Truly, you are simply a has been actor who has zero understanding of our government, our division of powers, nor any semblance of reality whatsoever
Question... Love all your posts BTW... But after they resign, can't trump just choose trump-friendly people to replace them? It's not like he won't just blanket pardon everyone he knows after they commit treason like the Jan 6 insurrectionists.
Doesn’t this just mean that TrElon gets his workforce cuts AND rewards a fellow criminal with reprieve? Also, wasn’t this a quid pro quo between criminals? No prosecution for ICE raids?
How does resigning help the cause? You're quitting, you're surrendering. You're giving up and giving in. Furthermore, you've created a vacancy which Trump can now fill with one of his lackeys.
The playbook is clear…. He’s aiming to get rid of all the true believers so they can be replaced with people that will do his bidding and lack moral character
Resigning in protest only works if the person or persons are cared about by the Administration. It just made it easier for them to fill the empty spot with Another bootlicker.
It's who they get replaced with that could create a bigger problem, one that could be harder to solve than if they had stayed and stood their ground...
Assistant U.S. Attorney Hagan Scotten: "If no lawyer within earshot of the President is willing to give him that advice, then I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me."
As I'm given to understand it, you're depriving the villains of competent workers who understand the organization and how to get things done. Their replacement might be loyal, but if the don't know how to get things done, they can be worse than useless.
If the goal were governance, which it isn't. The one hard line they've found so far is nuclear bomb experts. Otherwise they seem happy to delete anything that bothers them.
I meant in general, not in this SPECIFIC situation. I'm with you on this, I think them staying on and doing their job incompetently would be more effective than a showy resignation.
Agreed, it's not a hurdle, it's at best a speed bump but more likely exactly what they want to shut things down or replace good people with sycophants.
The trouble is the only people left soon will be Trump/musk apparatchiks - mindlessly following any commands, no matter how insane. The departments will need people working there still who are willing to disobey / disable the most destructive plans..
How is resigning resistance? Serious question. Don't they make it easier to drop the charges? Or is this a delay tactic...and can they delay it 4 more years?
OK so they save their own butts, that's fine, but I'm not sure how this helps the existential situation. This isn't resistance, it's self preservation. Maybe justified, but still....
Your asking someone else to stand up and get arrested and sacrifice their freedom, family and life, and the end result won't change. They will be removed and replaced by someone who will say yes. Resigning also let's them continue to fight with inside information.
I didn't ask them to do anything. Please reread the post and do not put words in my mouth. What I am questioning is why is this considered resistance? That's how the OP framed it. I am totally sympathetic with their reasons for resigning. Please address the actual question or move on.
I did, your words are your own I didn't put them there. Resistance comes in many forms, if you think more should be done, there's a job opening you can apply for.
Deep Throat did not resign in protest. He worked from within and leaked what was happening to the outside. He stayed and fought instead of resigning and being forgotten within days. If gov workers don't fight from within, this is rapidly approaching a point where only a few ugly options will remain.
Resistance is showing a little bit...
... but, resigning, just like in battle, does not make things better there, it is actually conceding the field to the opposition, and in this case, it gives trump just exactly what he wants...
... it eliminates the hurdles rather than raising them higher!
It’s time to start planning now for future elections from the municipal level on up. Like Elon said, sometimes you have to take out the root or the weed will continue to grow. Act now.
Well. I hope you are right. But no doubt you will understand if, like in Star Trek, one wonders if “Resistance is Futile”. Where’s Captain Kirk or Picard when you need them?
I hate to say this, but resigning isn't resistance; It's what the MAGA regime wants. Now they will replace those people with loyalists who will do what they're told.
If everyone in government just resigns in protest, all that does is leave us with a government full of sycophants. That is BAD.
Resistance is RESISTING. Stay in your post and don't budge an inch. Don't make it easier for them. Make them have to fight for every tiny step toward their goal.
Why are people resigning? Chain yourselves to a chair and fight with us! Does everyone forget the represent the American people? Resigning is just giving up.

Resistance is supposed to be boiling over at this point!
Stop the Coup.
Deport Musk.
Impeach Trump.
Restore America.
Good Start.
It'll be difficult to fill those roles, and whomever they do get will be bottom barrel awful who will lose a lot.
I get why people do it, but it's not resistence.
😂😂
A general strike at the DOJ and all their offices will put a grinding halt on all of it.
There are lots out there who will

Every principled resignation enables the appointment of an unprincipled stooge, incrementally increasing the power of the Musk/Trump regime.
