Because the solution to MS seem to be giving kids MORE vaccines, and if RFK Jr gets his way with giving less vaccines, we will probably see a huge increase in these kinda illnesses.
The link between MS and mono is scary, and the idea that my partner could have been well if a vaccine existed, sad.

Well, investigating the root cases of these ARE a good thing, both with multiple sclerosis and psoriasis, because there seem to be root causes and it seem to be something we can do a lot to prevent, but I am pretty sure it is not what they want.

Also, they kill WAY too many birds, and that really is reason enough.

no, they did not.... they said "contact them through end-to-end encrypted platforms, like the messaging app Signal."
As Filipe points out, CNN is not giving away anything secret, and calling this "propaganda" is somewhat odd, US media spews out tons of propaganda all the time, this not it though.

... think I read that several of these DOGA people were already on Signal, so, don't think CNN is doing a lot of damage here. These far right groups have a lot of experience keeping their conversations hidden and protected, so, yah, they know already.

"like the messaging app Signal", anyway, I assume these people know very well what Signal is and what it is used for, it's not exactly a well kept secret...

So... When Bluesky runs out of money, and the site shuts down, what will happen then?
Most masto servers behave a lot more mature. Masto dot art is kinda become a reference on how not to be.
Still, point remains. Bluesky isn't federated. They do false advertisement claiming this.

And we could scale down a lot of useless shit. Like now, google is analyzing all the images I take, categoricing them, creating panoramas, etc etc, all for nothing.
Like how much power goes into useless services that no one really cares about, just to have a "fency thing" to show off

Maybe instead look at what the servers in the data centres are used for. And go after the useless stuff like LLM / other generative AI used for nonsense generative stuff, bitcoin mining, etc.
But if my work moved away from cloud we would still waste energy inhouse instead.
comment in response to

This is said on a site that depends on data centres to operate. I somehow doubt it would be better if companies moved servers inhouse. A PS5 use a lot of energy, it does not help that all PS5s are spread around the world and not in data centres.

Basically, I am tired of putting time and effort into centralized, coroprately owned networks that are there to make profit for their owners.
Fediverse gives to independence for servers, while still keep you connected.

So, my mate ordered me this for Christmas.
I did not know what I was getting, but I ended up knowing that it was called "Crescent".
Then a couple of days later I log on to bluesky and the first thing in my feed is this :P
It arrived! It is even lovelier on paper!
Thank you!

You are not much of an anti facist when you take the side of a far right government supported by the biggest militarry power in the world, are you?
We see what they do, we hear what they say.
They hide behind antisemitism to justify murdering innocent civilians. They target them!

We see what happenes. A far right Israeli gouverment doing what is does cannot hide behind "The Jewish Nation" and get away with murdering innocent civilians.

Problem for me is that conneting to peeps means I have to have the ability to say stuff to someone without it being open for everyone.
Until that is in place, I cannot really connect here. Until then, it feels more like an art share site, not a social media.

Det er vel noen ledere som satte opp noen fine OKR'er og tenker at så lenge man har gode KPI'er, så skal det gå helt fint.

Like, their plans for making money ignores the fact that they will be at a disadvantage to any other company using their codebase, as they will not need to do the work.
This is why I kinda expect it to die out soon, or turn into something they claim they will not be.

Yah but I dont quite see how people will be different on an ATproto network vs activitypub. Already, the influx of people to mastodon has changed the mentality of peeps there a lot.
My main issue with bsky is their business model makes absolutely no sense, and that worries me.

And it is really the actiitypub that makes it all neat, you can now follow wordpress blogs from a mastodon account because wordpress has activitypub plugin.
Anyhow, I expect bluesky to go under soon, and that will probably give another wave to activitypub (mastodon or similar) when that happens.

I joined mastodon when the first wave hit as Musk took over Twitter. It was kinda offputting, but I stayed because I liked the concept of distributed social media.
As more waves came in, the feel changed. It feels a lot more friendly and less rigid now.
