Such a special city. I feel El Paso has the kindest people in the US. They provide shelter, food, clothing, and medicine to refugees 24/7 every day for years, with smiles and love.

Jenn I concur. The thousands of refugees I met mostly came in with just the clothes on their backs which were caked with desert sand so that we gave all of them clean clothes and showers. Some may have had a small backpack or small bag but these were checked by CBP before bringing them to us.

Ben I am just one citizen who held the hands of many refugees in El Paso who is now waiting for the horrors that most certainly will come. Some days I feel powerless but then some sign shows up that my voice does matter and so does yours.

I remember hearing his emotional testimony after the separations happened. I thought this is such a good man who has seen terrible things and I was so hopeful he was trying to help repair the damage that had been inflicted. I wanted to hug him.
