It seems that destruction of American power *IS* the point. Why are Democrats acting as if everything is normal?

I have no idea why, when Al Green was removed for bringing a spine into the chamber, the Dems didn’t stand up as one and walk out.

By going along with the policies that have gutted the livelihood of many Americans. By failing to adequately support civic education (including the necessity of all citizens to vote). By failing to push back hard enough when the warning signs in Trump version 1 were clear. Etc. etc. etc.

Well, the criticism fairly applies to all of us. Somehow even we, the Nazi-abhorring, science-embracing, diplomacy-appreciating contingent of Americans, were not smart enough to prevent this national suicide at the hand of this madman. It is a travesty.

Not actually a question, but I think more Democrats should stand up and make little Johnson call the Sargent at Arms

True. I agree with the nuance you point out. I’ve started glossing over the nuance because the fossil fuel industry exploits the nuance to position carbon capture as a grant of moral license for proceeding with business as usual. In reality, we must prioritize actions that stop fossil fuel use ASAP.

Bingo! Any form of carbon capture currently serves as an expensive distraction to what must be done and done as fast as possible: stop using fossil fuels. The good news is that we have all the technology we need to do this. We need only the political will.
