If companies aren't going to be loyal to workers, they at least need to eliminate their "no moonlighting" policies that leave people without any side-hustle back-up plans.

To succeed, creative-skill unions need 1) the solidarity of nearly all experienced people in a craft, 2) the threat that a strike will shut down a business. The WGA was SO CLOSE to unionizing game writers but they dropped the ball.

100 percent. I once declined a job where the game designer wanted to put the story in a pre-game crawl "so the players can get on with the gameplay." A story needs to unfold -- that's where the player engagement is narratively.

Junior roles exist, but yeah. They're rare and wildly competitive. Most successful junior applicants have gamedev experience already through indies, game jams, and personal projects

Thank you for posting this. I worked at Gartner back in the day and am constantly having to correct people who call Y2K a "hoax."

I suspect that birth order plays a role in this. Only children watch what their parents watch (I saw tons of R rated movies in grade school). Third (or later) kid is probably in a kid-centric family that watches talking animal movies.

Such a good film. Tragically, the bar across the street from me was pumping out a disco beat while I watched it.

Thank you. This is great. I'm writing a visual novel for an indie studio (for the first time), so this is super helpful.

Most vegetables are actually fruits, as I explain in this 900-word footnote.
