Oh my gosh, that sounds rad and I cannot wait to read it! (I've got turning an outdated encyclopedia entry I wrote on grangerizing into a small grangerized zine at some point, excited to point to this there too)

6. “In this vicious desire to harm a small group of people, we’re allowing governments to separate men and women on the slightest pretext,” Lyman writes. “Ivey and the Alabama Legislature have opened the door to sex segregation.” alabamareflector.com/2025/02/17/t...

This sounds neat, and is one of the kinds of crafts I forget people can just do themselves. Do you have plans for the dye?

But what about Trump's EO? EOs let POTUS interpret federal law when the details sketched out by Congress are unclear. (EOs let POTUS color inside the lines drawn by Congress.) But EOs have no bearing on state law. Congress can override our state law with federal law, but POTUS can't do it alone.

Thank you for this leadership.

Are they…trying to frame denial of care as a compassionate act intended to provide patients with stability?

Thank you very much for reporting this.

ahead of today’s UVA BOV meeting, state senator danica roem sent them a letter reminding them that it would violate state law to restrict gender affirming care bsky.app/profile/pwcd...

So it’s probably not surprising that this BOV has decided it can discriminate, but “compassionately,” against transgender children and their families. The BOV wants to push them out of UVA, with the same arrogant, paternalistic cowardice of their hero Thomas Jefferson. Same old same old UVA.

Let me be clear: I do not care if they are erasing us just to secretly and privately offer care. The erasure itself is a harm I will not stand for. Not from our trusted providers. Not from our lgbt orgs. Not from our homeless shelters. I will never, ever compromise on this.

I will--thank you!
