Not sure but this might be my best ever published quote. Read to the end, please. No cheating www.gq.com/story/suprem...

My love, @loreleilee.bsky.social, will be visiting. Convince us to go live on Monday the 9th with a $5k tribute. ✨

Feeling so much gratitude this morning for having been out about sex work for 25 years. I know it doesn't work for everyone, and it's definitely not the safest way to live, but I've gained the most incredible community and freedom bc of it 💕

What is going on at Make the Road? Unionized staff are pushing back on dozens of layoffs, including paralegals and immigration case navigators, at the worst possible time.

Okay. I thought we knew this already?

👀

I think a lot about how Aaron Swartz committed suicide while facing a probably long jail sentence for download some of JSTOR, but no one at Meta is going to face any repercussions for using all of Libgen to train its AI.

Tangential I guess but the beginningof my next book is about why we need science and poetry to help us understand metaphors or else we are politically fucked and this guy is proving my point 😭

Speaking of the worst opinions

What do famous people have the WORST opinions

it is wild how many people believe most murders are committed intentionally but that no one would ever choose to do sex work

Wow, so this was an obvious and terrible outcome. You guys, AI can't give legal advice, but even more importantly, an AI company/platform doesn't have a legal or professional obligation of confidentiality that would protect you if you sought out an actual lawyer

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JUNE 7!! SAVE THE FEDERAL CIVIL SERVICE! MAKE A COMMENT TODAY!!! news.chanda.science/archive/urge...

I subscribe to the @newyorker.com, I was part of ACT UP, I knew Larry Kramer well and know Tony Fauci too. Daniel Immerwahr's piece on RFKJr, features this and other passages that need a reponse. 1/

Our colleagues’ children are being massacred. Doctors are being tortured. And the US medical establishment is so depraved that it continues to either ignore or justify this violence. Utterly obscene.

I went through RFK’s famous autism press conference and compared what he said to the actual paper he was (supposedly) talking about. There were a few inconsistencies. @ericmgarcia.bsky.social open.substack.com/pub/holdenth...

Republicans in Utah commissioned an investigation into gender-affirming care for trans youth after banning it in 2023. They're now rejecting the findings of that investigation which showed access to care reduced suicides and improved "positive mental health and psychosocial functioning outcomes."

GUYS. The comment period for this ends in THREE DAYS. PLEASE if you have even a little bit of time, submit a comment here: www.regulations.gov/commenton/FD... Let them know EVERYONE should be able to get COVID vaccines. They BACK DOWN when WE PUSH BACK. www.statnews.com/2025/05/20/f...

Cue my usual rant about calling the most powerful and morally corrupt people in the world "psychotic" when I've *seen* how ableists treat someone in the throes of an episode given the opportunity to have power over someone themselves.

Thread. For me it’s always so heartening to see people speak up about specifically the use of blind/short-sighted/myopic/etc. It’s so entrenched in our language it feels almost impossible to challenge. In case anyone wondered if it bothers blind people, this is me saying yep, it really gets to me.

Yep. And crips/cripples are *disabled folks* reclaiming that slur -- cripping is *bending the slur* so it can exist once more without judgement, so just like disabled people, to let it *exist* WITHOUT judgement.

Ableist language is so, so prevalent, I can't stand it. Here are some examples: Wheelchair bound: we aren't tied to our chairs, better to say "wheelchair user." also bc wheelchairs aren't an impediment, they're freedom! Crippled: just please don't say this ever. Even as a metaphor. It's a slur.

Even if you cant donate just share and interact, it only takes a moment

I always had a strong negative reaction at a gut level to ABA, without knowing its origins. Now it makes sense.

Today is free Black Mamas Day. Honor mothering by mitigating our government's policies of family separation. Show love in the face of state violence. Today you can make it true that love actually wins.

When i was a kid, I had a grandparent who worked at the public library in a big city. Every so often, she sent me boxes of discards. I can't imagine how much darker my life would have been without those books. They made my whole world. Libraries are truly everything.

I would like a holiday when we send cards & flowers to the aunties & big siblings & grandparents & chosen family & everyone else out there parenting kids without even the very minimal social recognition we give to parents
