I'll look into it. I am not sure people out of the state understand just how entrenched the legislature is in Idaho. They explicitly gave Trump a carte blanche to the press when he came in. It will take a large hit in people's wallets before there is any hope of change in our political sphere.

That's just great how we retraumatize victims of violent crimes.

(2) No injuries are required to prove attempted strangulation.
(3) The prosecution is not required to show that the defendant intended to kill or injure the victim. The only intent required is the intent to choke or attempt to strangle.
(even in Idaho that behavior is a no-go without consent)

Idaho 18-923. Attempted strangulation. (1) Any person who willfully and unlawfully chokes or attempts to strangle a household member, or a person with whom he or she has or had a dating relationship, is guilty of a felony punishable by incarceration for up to fifteen (15) years in the state prison.

and judges are now getting anonymous pizzas delivered to their home addresses. I am not sure how that isn't getting investigated for what it is.

WTF? Maybe DOGE is going to send the House and Senate home as well? One would think that faced with losing all your political power to a dictator, one might move to impeach that fucker before it happened. Self-preservation being what it is and all that.

what a legacy indeed. the Micron deal is huge to Idaho, upstate NY, and US national security in general. the only ones happy will be the Chinese government.

Pretty much...some people are so lost. I win someone over and then some go back to watching their propaganda and the cycle of misinformation starts again. It like a drug they are stay addicted to, and I lose them all over again.

I'm out in SE Boise, and I have only seen one sad looking jake out here. I do see loads of other wild critters though. Turkeys seem to adapt well to suburban environments if there are mature trees around for food and roosting safety.

Some of my family are elderly and basic email is all they can manage. They are not going to grok a new platform at this point. I write a weekly email update and include Google Drive links for photos and what not I share with them. It works even with their diminished capacities. I also use Zoom.

100% agreed...I want to see both criminal and civil responses to their actions. Outside of a threat to life situation, citizens can't put hands on someone, search them, and then zip-tie them. If you or I did that I would expect we would be charged with False Imprisonment (Idaho Statute 18-2901).

Yeah...the lack of a magnetic fields on the planet in addition to the massive exposure during the trip appear to be what the average Mars dreamer doesn't quite grok. Irradiation tends to be a real drag.

There need to be powerful financial disincentives to infringe on first amendment freedoms. A GoFundMe was started for her legal fees to sue the pants of those guys. It's now up to $170k. I hope they lose the next few rounds as well.

I hope this gets as much coverage as it deserves. I spread it on my Signal channels and donated. Many of us can't afford to spend the night in jail and the criminal record it generates, but I know I can afford to kick in something for someone's legal costs. What happened was just fricking wrong.

I know how that goes and why I am so big on safety. I cringe watching YouTube videos of our factories from the early 20th century (or current factories located in developing countries).

That is terrible news. I am sorry about the car and the wildlife. It's so sad to see loss like that. I was walking our puppy through a wildfire burn area a couple weeks ago. There was nothing left alive...not even insects.

Hail like that sure makes a mess out of a garden. Hopefully no vehicles were damaged. It's strange to think of you being in the middle of summer there and I am in the middle of winter.

I just posted about that. Yikes! I hope you were okay. That one can be really bad. Also just the vapor of cyanoacrylates can be nasty in poor ventilation environments. Often people don't know that until it is too late.

It's why I wear safety glasses anytime I am using the stuff. It can get on you quite fast as it bonds to skin so well, and your eyes are one place you really don't want it. I am sure that sounds ridiculous to some, but maybe I have more exposure to industrial accidents than the average bear.

This! Another example of how Musk doesn't know what he is talking about when it comes to technical details. Ask someone with a 4 year CompSci degree completed in the last say 25 years or work experience in a high TPS, persistent transaction environment. He is just flat wrong.

I can imagine how reading Welsh as a teenager would be quite something. I was in my 20s when I read it. I am also not sure how the book would read 30 years later as I am so far removed from the life I lived back then. Looking back at that period it doesn't even seem real...like it was someone else.
