A query for people who know about the early modern Court of Star Chamber - @thegozfather.bsky.social? @kjkesselring.bsky.social? What would happen if somebody entered a bill of complaint just before a general pardon went through Parliament... (1/2)

Today, we celebrate the life, words, and work of Linda Smith, our President who died on this day 2006. Linda was an incredible comedian, satirist, and broadcaster, whose passion for politics and humanism was palpable. She was our president in 2004, and is sorely missed.

Congratulations to Tony T and his colleagues in the Communities of Liberation project at London’s Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archive. They are doing great work, and I am delighted to have been able to help. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

The sad thing is that email and admin have taken over academic life so much that many of us have to squeeze in the poisoning of minds on evenings and weekends.
