The Killarney Traffic Calming public consultation process is open. I recently met with a parent representative from Weir Elementary School about traffic safety concerns on Rupert & other streets in this neighbourhood. https://www.shapeyourcity.ca/killarney-traffic-calming

Today is the last day to take the City of Vancouver's survey on the updated draft Rupert and Renfrew Station Area Plan. Make sure to have your say:

Our region has shared challenges - from housing, to affordability, to congestion. We can only solve them if we tackle our common problems together. It's in that spirit that I am proud to enjoy the support of Patrick Johnstone, Mayor of New Westminster.

Ken Sim has passed a motion banning net-new supportive housing units in Vancouver. He has turned his back on our neighbours. My statement: www.onecityvancouver.ca/ken_sim_supp...

Ken Sim said just a few days ago that the police are mostly dealing with health issues - not crime. So why did he only hire 12 nurses, when he promised 100? And why is he trying to ban supportive housing - ANYWHERE in Vancouver?

The Globe and Mail has obtained a leaked ABC document revealing a radical plan for the Downtown Eastside. We'll have more to say on this soon. For now, the story speaks for itself. READ: www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...

Vancouver must be a city for all its people. I call on Council to reject Ken Sim's motion banning net-new supportive housing, ANYWHERE in our city.

With two yes-men at the table, Ken Sim is guaranteed to win votes - and do damage. Whoever you've voted for before, I'm asking for one of your votes on Election Day. I'm proud to have received the support of people from other progressive groups. Thank you to Dulcy Anderson:

ABC is running Ralph Kaisers in this by-election. Here's what I've got to say about that:

Vancouverites have public safety concerns. We deserve leaders who will invest in services that prevent crime, and don't just invest in enforcement after it's already happened. @lucymaloney.bsky.social will fight for investment in these services, like Peer Assisted Care Teams.

Thank you to the Vancouver and District Labour Council for your support! With our Mayor having cut wages for janitors and security guards, it couldn't be clearer that we need progressive fighters at City Hall who will call him out and fight back.

how amazing is it to see almost every grand city in the world and be constantly awed by the different combinations of people and geography and architecture, how culture and art are celebrated, how people get around and enjoy their lives anyways melbourne is fantastic

Vote @onecityvan.bsky.social to allow six floors and corner stores and help keep more families together in Vancouver. #FamilyDay

Just had a minor freak-out when my fully-charged phone went black and stopped responding. Luckily it was just a stealth software upgrade. Extremely dependent on my phone right now. #CampaignLife

The Filipino community contributes so much to this province. It was an honour to hear their stories, challenges, hopes and ideas for the future today at Langara College. The community deserves a Filipino Community Centre!

Hear @rebeccaleebligh.bsky.social speak to @jasjohal.bsky.social yesterday afternoon about Mayor Ken Sim expelling her from ABC yesterday for speaking out against his harmful plan to stop approving social housing in the City of Vancouver.

Happy Valentine's day!

I first ran for city council because things needed to be done differently at City Hall. Regardless of the issue, I wanted to make sure that voices from all corners of our city are lifted up and included — not silenced and marginalized.🧵

you don’t have to be a deep politics knower to see that all the people who left or been booted out of “big tent” ABC are from one part of the tent

Got to finally meet @lucymaloney.bsky.social and trade my housing policy wish list for some campaign swag* Looking forward to seeing what she has to bring to the civic discussion on a whole range of issues. *happy to make the same trade w any other candidate who wants to get in the policy weeds

“A new analysis by independent automotive blog FuelArc suggests that fire fatalities are 17 times more likely in a Cybertruck than in the infamous Ford Pinto — the posterchild deadly cars if ever there was one.”

Hugely supportive of the work OneCity has done. I’m really hoping Lucy wins a spot on council in the by-election.

Thank you Vancouver sports fans for staying home from Granville Island Market at lunchtime today so it was only very crowded, rather than “can barely move, huge lineups everywhere” crowded.

So sorry to hear this. What an incredibly inspirational life and career Donald Shoup had. Everyone should read The High Cost of Free Parking. I did a little “book club” on it here: marketurbanism.com/2012/06/15/t...

Donald Shoup was a guest on the third ever episode of Adam Ruins Everything, “Adam Ruins Cars.” He was so generous with his time and so game to do a silly scene with us. RIP to a wonderful man and advocate youtu.be/skm6hp99-5A?...

Ken Sim Is Wrong. We Need More Supportive Housing, Not Less via @thetyee.ca thetyee.ca/Opinion/2025...

Ken Sim won’t listen to BC Housing, he won’t listen to the Provincial Government, and he won’t even listen to his own caucus around his dangerous and cruel motion. If you want to bring our neighbours inside, he’s not working for you.

Public Disco is back this Saturday with our next warehouse party featuring Brazil born, MTL based artist @djhermano.bsky.social bringing his feel good tunes to The Birdhouse. Grab tix: www.eventbrite.ca/e/public-dis... | #yvr #dancemusic

Hear Amanda Burrows, ED of the Vancouver non-profit First United in the Downtown East Side on CBC Radio yesterday talking about Ken Sim's plan to halt supportive housing approvals: "Lives will be lost."

Hey Vancouver voters. This is good news. I’ve worked with and observed city councillors up close in too many cities to list (including Vancouver, obviously) for 33 years. Lucy would be a very good city councillor.

Yesterday, on a very sobering day for Canadians, it was great to talk with members of the West End BIA at their Lunar New Year celebrations, about how much the loss of local businesses hits our community & the serious challenges facing them. There's never been a better time to buy local. 🇨🇦

After American airspace was closed on 9/11, over 230 flights with 30,000 passengers and crew were diverted to Canadian airports. Transport Canada received thousands of calls from members of the public offering to help the stranded passengers. Thinking about that today, for no particular reason.

What a week! The response to OneCity's Vancouver by-election candidate announcement has been incredible and our team is fully immersed in campaign prep. I wasn't all that enthusiastic about updating my BlueSky profile page, but don't worry - the dogs on bikes post is still on here somewhere! 🐕‍🦺

This cardboard "Trojan Horse" was part of a skit at last night's town hall meeting at the Carnegie Theatre, about Ken Sim's upcoming motion which will halt approvals for supportive housing in Vancouver. The huge turnout shows how much fear & concern Ken Sim has caused in this community.

“No consultation with the non-profit housing sector that delivers more than 30,000 non-profit homes…, incl 5,400 homes with supports for people with disabilities, seniors, veterans, youth, those experiencing gender-based violence, people with mental illness & those affected by substance use.”
