Start with personal successes before you focus on successful games. Game Jams are a great way to do that.
Your game may be absolute trash, but it will be a completed game. Success!
It also helps train in meeting scope and deadlines.

If it was another level-based, class-restricted, raid/PVP 'endgame' retread of 90% of what MMOdom has offered over the past 25 years, then it's good news. They saved themselves money. If it was going to offer something new and different, then I hope it sees the light of day.

Valkyrie Sky was a 3D game with 2D combat. It was fun to play and I wouldn't mind seeing more games like that.

There used to be a book store near me that had seating in different areas around the store and a coffee shop in it. There were always people sitting around reading. Was a really nice atmosphere. I think it was called Books-a-million or something like that. We could use a modern version of that.
