that’s an odd complaint. usually his critics moan that #Starmer has neither commented nor acted, quickly enough. and mostly his caution has been proven to be wiser than it seemed in the frenzy of the moment.

bravo! fine research + crisp writing. some seem too cautious about letting us, the public know what's going on in Britain's elected extreme rightwing. and looked very good on the page, too.

given statements Trump has now made (actively undermining Zelensky with gross misinformation) since this edition was 'dropped', it should now be evident just how 'un-normal' and destructive this American president is, globally. but the evidence was already there for friends of democracy to see:

normalisation of Trump's actions by various commentators does a profound disservice - and that includes US mediation on Ukraine. 'Realpolitik' it is not.

peace at last, then?

neither juvenile 'outrage' nor cynical dismissal really matches up to what we're facing here. so what can those who care about democracy actually do now (not just say) to counter the White House's authoritarian propaganda operation?

individuals have been slow to shift. but what about institutions?
public institutions posting information on #Twitter (aka X) but not on another platform (like #Bluesky) are providing free benefits and competitive advantages to a platform that aims to put the far right in power, globally.

sadly (and unwisely), many public institutions still concentrate their media posting on that site.

on the international economy ... we (Europeans) may choose to #DumpUSA but it'll take quite a while for them to notice - America already 'consumes its own', while swallowing a lot of imports.
though pointed #BoycottUSA on 28 Feb wouldn't go amiss.

thanks for posting, Paul. I’d have missed it, otherwise.

am puzzled how many folk continue posting on Twitter (aka X), feeding Musk's ego. maybe a vocal resistance is still needed there. but for most of what we're posting it's beyond time to move elsewhere - like here on #Bluesky - and put pressure on all kinds of institutions to shift, too!

maybe all the answers will eventually pop up in @newstatesman.com’s ‘Philosophy Matters’?

these are an excellent tease. and … do the answers appear in small print somewhere?

we need to write to Labour MPs to let them know permanent exclusion policy will lose them votes.

it's grim to hear this, Alessandro. raw power in action. 'fake news'. forbidden words.
