I used a Windows machine recently and it was aggressively toxic. Intrusive ads for paid services, pop-ups to enable this or that useless feature, multiple update nags within 20 minutes. I could not focus on my task. Windows is fully enshittified and I will not use any software that requires it.

On certain topics regarding policy changes that hurt people, you will often find a gloating, willfully ignorant response or two. The feeling is EXACTLY like finding a big runny bird poop on your windshield. I want to shorthand this behavior as “birdshitting” from now on.

Trump sets tariffs: “these are good, the manufacturing jobs will come back etc, we voted for this” Trump cancels tariffs: “It was a shrewd bargaining tactic, he got what he wanted.” Why aren’t these people mad the tariffs they wanted were a false campaign promise? What about the manufacturing?
