⚡️ The historic moment of Estonia leaving the Russian-fed power grid. On February 8, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia left Russia and Belarus energy system. By the end of the day today, they will have joined the European grid.

This afternoon I read this 1978 essay on the socio-cultural rise of Anti-Semitism in Imperial Germany. Primarily because I sensed there would be some shared vibes with the right-wing obsession with DEI as a cultural code for racism/sexism and signalling in-groupness. And ho-boy. Thoughts. ⬇️

Serious business in the US. I guess this not only applies to inst. knoeledge but also inst. libraries, databases and archives. Here in Denmark I have experienced, more than once, that institutional libraries or archives were dumped in the container.

I do not doubt that it is very serious in the US right now. This also happens every time knowledgable people have to leave due to horrible bosses/working conditions. And everytime the "leadership" desides to purge the archives because more room is needed (nobody cares about those old papers anyway).

Under the code name 'Operation Weserübung', Nazi Germany attacked Denmark and Norway on 9 April 1940. On that same day, Denmark surrendered and was occupied. Did Madsen guns play a role in the (feeble) Danish defense? Absolutely! Especially the 20mm. Thread coming later.
