Why is New Jersey so concerned about having to pay to drive into Manhattan? I’m sure people from LI and other boroughs are annoyed but they aren’t putting up half the fuss.

The psychological after-effects of the pandemic really aren’t talked about much, it feels like we are all expected to act like it never happened. I had to work very hard in the last year to get out of my isolation and social awkwardness that developed in isolation.

I was going to say Colette, her writing is clear and beautiful but a lot of archaic words. But also Annie Ernaux Les Années is a good starter. She recently won the Nobel Prize for Literature

That’s exactly the way I remember it. I remember protesting outside Chuck Schumer’s apartment building in early January, and I remember the media trying to say ‘He looked presidential today’ and how the Women’s March surprised everyone.
