How much are they paying at the Russian troll farms these days?

It’s about defending them in general from men who don’t have their best interests at heart. Did the original post reference property or virginity? No, it didn’t. You’re making a lot of assumptions about other people solely because the way they speak seems more “traditional” than you like.

While true, that doesn’t change the fact that there are still millions of shitty men in this world and a father has a duty to protect his daughter from them.
comment in response to post
Fathers have a duty to protect their daughters, it has nothing to do with “property” and tbh it’s kind of sick that you even think of it that way. This world is filled with dangerous assholes, and a grown man is far more likely to be able to identify them than a lovestruck teenage girl.

Good news is they’re almost all in the east, so maybe Germany can just give that part back to Russia and let those folks get exactly what they’re voting for

And you can likewise deal with people like me using words you don’t like. You’re a big boy, you’ll be ok.

As for being scolds, how is that not obvious? Dems and libs have become the puritanical language police, excoriating anyone who dares to use unapproved words and getting themselves so distracted by this crusade that they forget to address the actual real issues that are causing Americans to suffer.

That entire campaign was artificial bullshit that was utterly out of touch with the lives of much of the electorate. Few people are feeling joy these days. People are facing real struggles. This country is on the decline. At least Trump acknowledged that basic fact.

No, the truth is that Democrats expect themselves to be the adults in the room. No one said the Dems have to be racist and sexist, but they do need to start learning how to communicate with the tens of millions of Americans who use certain words that make liberals uncomfortable.

Then enjoy helping to maintain the conditions that allow fascists to take power. What’s worse - someone making a crude joke about taking it in the ass, or having a federal government that will literally strip your rights away?

Nazis are human beings. What’s your opinion on them?

He’s trying to appeal to the on-the-fence Trump voters who speak like this and might be skeptical of his policies but are sick to fucking death of the liberal language police.

🤦‍♂️ This kind of shit is exactly why Trump won. Stfu with policing language. Do you not understand how obnoxious and off-putting it is?
comment in response to post
🤦‍♂️ This is exactly why Trump won. I hate right-wingers but goddamn you libs can be so fucking annoying with this shit. “dOn’T KiNk shAmE” We’ve got a five alarm fire going on in this country, a billionaire sabotaging our government, and your chief concern is…”are we using the right words?”
comment in response to post
Because that doesn’t have the same effect. It’s 2025. Do you *still* not understand that the primary appeal of Trump to millions of people is that he speaks like they do? Dems will never make inroads with those people if they keep acting like joyless scolds policing everyone’s words.
comment in response to post
No one is “hurt” by the word “pussy” unless they’re an insecure man like Trump. Hence the need to use it.
comment in response to post
Aaaaaand this is why the Dems continue to lose. The message in the original post is not for people like you, it’s for on-the-fence Trump supporters. He wins with them because he speaks their language. Dems need to start speaking that language if they want to make inroads.

Not despite, because of. Keep the pressure on. The more pressure they face, the more they double down. The more they double down, the more people they alienate. The more people they alienate, the sooner their entire plot falls apart.

At this rate they’re going to piss off the whole country by the midterms

Yes, basically. To paraphrase Chomsky, there’s one party, the corporate party, with two wings known as Republicans and Democrats. Our elections are mostly a choice between which person we think will likely screw us over less.
comment in response to post
Why tf would you think I vote for Republicans when I literally started off my post with “Republicans are the bad guys”?

This attitude of refusing to take any responsibility for creating the conditions that empower fascist demagogues should also be added to the list. People in this country are rightfully scared and angry about both the present and the future, and the Dems offer them only empty platitudes.
comment in response to post
And of course, if the Dems actually had a coherent ideology and set of inviolable principles that they stood for over time, instead of frantically shifting positions and changing policies based on whatever direction the political winds were blowing that day, they might actually inspire some voters
comment in response to post
If the Dems had focused on real “kitchen table” issues that affect the majority of households, instead of niche issues that affect 0.5% of the population while simultaneously alienating about 50%, the GOP wouldn’t have had nearly as much to campaign on.

If Biden and the Dems actually advertised what the IRA did instead of just assuming that Americans would somehow magically figure it out. Hell, I’m active in politics and *I* can’t even say wtf the IRA does to address the problems regular working folks face.

If the Biden DoJ had dropped everything and gone after Trump full-bore for the J6 insurrection, he wouldn’t be President now. Big shoutout to Merrick Garland, who sat passively as the GOP stole his SCOTUS seat, and then sat passively in the DoJ and slow-walked the Trump prosecution.
