People in reviews keep comparing "Mufasa" to the 1994 original... which is the wrong move. This movie is NOT a prequel of that movie, it is a prequel for the remake. There is enough to criticize story-wise there. For example, Zazu saying he knew Mufasa as a cub when "Mufasa" shows he didn't. Thread:

Honestly, the Mufasa movie was rough to watch. A lesson in overcorrection. We went from lifeless and boring to over-animated, especially with the cubs. Timon and Pumbaa made me want to skip forward, the songs were ass (Bye bye!). The only upsides were the adults being better in expressions.
