"big bike" should lobby for a tax credit on electric cargo bikes. Oh, never mind....

A couple of weeks ago that would have put me in 3rd place on the leaderboard, but I'm sure that has changed. Hopefully a top 5 🤞

This is coming from a person that is still learning about CV using Hailo on a Pi 5. Keep that in mind. I was able to process the data returned by the model but haven't been able to display the results on the preview window yet.

Made some progress yesterday. Was able to get a script working with a custom model. There are, mainly, 2 ways to go about this on a RPi: 1. Use Halo's Py infrastructure, which is a bit more complex but looks more powerful 2. Use Picamera2 which looks simpler but not as powerful

Yeah, things changed a bit when they launched support for the Hailo chips

Haven't checked Oak-D lite but should probably research. Coral Stick is kinda expensive for 4 TOPS

Documenting my journey to hopefully help others.

I found ONE good article with detailed information (linked below). But if you want to use a different type of model - like hand gesture instead of pose estimation - the example falls apart. core-electronics.com.au/guides/yolo-...

It's pretty easy to get started with the Raspberry Pi examples provided, but they are not very useful. They are decent examples but docs don't explain how to modify for your use case. github.com/hailo-ai/hai...

The noreply email is a little insulting....

New chain is like better than new bike 😁

He uses water containers, valves and relays to water his plants during long vacations. He uses gravity as opposed to a pump. Works fine. He doesn't use any automation when he's home.
comment in response to post
This is second hand from my dad but I have noticed something similar. He collected a lot of data before doing any automation. A moisture sensor is not really needed for plants in a controlled environment (indoors). A watering schedule is probably all you need.

He looks younger?? Lol

When I said off-the-shelf, I meant modules designed for being soldered onto the board. And not after market solutions like the PoE HAT's. Right now, my board doesn't have the connections needed for PoE power
comment in response to post
The PoE module would be soldered to the back of the board, or I would move stuff around to fit next to the SSD. The module would be wired directly to the Ethernet connector and to the CM5 power pins.

Only thing I miss is a water bottle holder, but that's on me for not having it figured out.

Haven't changed anything. Works really well for me so far. Have had for a little over 2 years now

It uses the same web API from their website, but instead of changing the store each time, this tool checks the stock across multiple stores.

This new one has pretty much the same functionality as the old one but: accepts larger SSDs; has USB and power through the same USB-C connector; it's easier for me to assemble 😄
comment in response to post
Potentially, with off the shelf PoE module

I think I'm in 10th place now 😁

Yep, I'm right handed and switch mouse usage from right to left hand all the time. That did not make me ambidextrous

I'm also surprised how closely Lightroom matches the film simulation on RAW photos. Awesome start to editing the files
comment in response to post
I think it's fine also. I've been doing RAW+JPEG and use the jpeg to transfer to my phone for a quick share. It's also nice to pop into B&W simulation for a preview

Awesome, logged in with my DID and synced my highest score. Where's the leaderboard 😀?

Hey Bailey, I'm hitting CORS issues with Chrome and Edge when I try to login because I have my own domain as the handle. Trying to fetch makerbymistake.com/.well-known/... from a 2048.blue referrer.

I'll login next time and get on the leaderboard action

Wait, what? 128k, that's bonkers.
