Not my game but I have a friend who is obsessed with this game and in love with how bad it was. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neopets...

How dare babies be given essential supplies! How dare children receive... *Checks notes* care! Stop caring about poor people's children, you godless communists!

Technically there is a rule you must be twenty five years of age though... Not sure if cat years count. A question for the courts maybe.

I can't vote for you because I'm in the 13th district. Opening for Heater?

Definitely the latter.

How much fire can a ceasefire cease firing if a ceasefire ceases no firing?

It's ominous because it is deeply not normal, seemingly trivial, and yet actually not. Personally I think the part of his brain that knows the difference between Twitter and an email has been cooked so now he's signing everything like it's a business email to a real estate contact 30 years ago.

Lol it's more an argument why a billion dollars company shouldn't train their billion dollar ai from a huge corpus of copyrighted books they downloaded via bittorrent

Take all of this with the grain of salt that I'm just Some Guy talking about his hobby to and about people who do it for a living and may not know what the heck I'm talking about though.

Additionally, I noticed that they got SungWon Cho to voice a character. Unless he left recently and I didn't realize, that means they may be subject to some of the terms of a SAG-AFTRA contract. Depending on what language exists in the contract they may need to consult a lawyer.

And it is doubly a busy time when you are a pretty small studio who launches a game that is as well received as this one appears to be.
comment in response to post
My guess is they might just be busy or trying to figure out how they could make it work on their end before trying to reach out. They just launched which is the busiest point in a game's lifecycle because of all the bugs that squeaked through testing only to be discovered by players.

I'm by no means an expert on how the sausage gets made with video games being someone who has never worked in the industry, just likes games and listens to developers talk online sometimes, but...

"Pounded in the Butt by the Abstract Concept of Self Improvement While My Gym Equipment Watches" pringler when, Chuck??

If I have the energy to make one my plan for tomorrow is to show up with a "Nae King! Nae Quin!" Sign because I'm going with a friend who is a huge Pratchett fan and I think it will make his afternoon.

Does he have a financial stake in convincing people to use "alternatives" to vaccines like Andrew Wakefield did, and if so, is his agendas similarly fraudulent and based financial greed?

I remember reading a quote from a food exec saying that he would rather have to try to quit smoking than quit eating oreos so he refuses to touch them.

I told my ai to act like an evil ai that wanted to take over the world so it fed me a slurry of homogenized and reprocessed Skynet, Hal 9000, and Cylon memes and I panicked.

It's honestly incredible the lack of media literacy required to apply this take to the author of Raising Steam, one of the great Trans Novels of our age?

I hope you responded something like "what if a kid isn't allowed to take it and her mom dies of an overdose and she's put into the foster system?"

Mine will always climb into the suitcase if I have it out and packing it. She wants to make sure I don't forget to bring my most important stress relief tool with me on every single trip!

Bluesky doesn't allow edits so I don't know if anyone will see this coda but if you do, you should read this entire thread with all its branching forks if you can. This is not the argument you think it is and it contains an important lesson for me, @lwr3628.bsky.social , but also you.

God I really hope so. I really truly worry about what social media and ai and political propaganda and cheap performative righteousness from the left in response to genuine evil from the right are doing to entire generations of people worldwide.

I have wonderful friends. Sadly the PTSD is thanks to the behavior of my wife and my being about to divorce for my own well being. thank you, however. i bet you'll make a huge difference for the people receiving your mutual aid today

I really don't think you're being a dick. We both came on too aggressive too quickly because the fucked up nature of social media encourages it. It completely undermined the entire point I was trying to make with pure hypocrisy. no wonder you got upset. But this is why soft startup is so important.
comment in response to post
No see, that's just it. You're right about the urgency. I saw a recent article that we might already be *past* the point of no return to prevent polar melting. That's horrific to millions of people in coastal parts of the world, mostly already poor and exploited.
comment in response to post
*sigh* you're right. I had a harsh start up, which is hypocritical to my point. It wasn't on purpose but I'm not always a good communicator. If you're taking direct action I'm glad. I'm not currently because my ptsd is awful right now and I don't have the time or energy to give.
comment in response to post
People doing this aren't morally bankrupt, and you won't get them to stop by coming right out and attacking. Humans fundamentally want to help people who treat them with empathy, but equally react aggressively to perceived hostility, just like you did just now.
comment in response to post
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel like I thought you are a dick. I don't think anything you're saying makes you a dick. I actually completely agree. My point is, you *come across* as one, even though actually I completely agree with the underlying criticism.
comment in response to post
I can't argue, but if we're trying to curtail usage of ai models, there are many much more harmful ways they're used you could choose to be critical of, and there's also an important consideration about messaging. You just come off as a dick on the Internet and it actually hurts your cause.

While this is true you know that like, screenshotting a tweet doesn't invoke any llms directly, right?

If you look at the symptoms on stimulant abuse it's a much better fit not just for him but a ton of these weirdly wired rich people with delusions of grandeur.

Some people may respond by saying, what if he's microdosing? But from personal experience, a dose small enough that he could still stand upright and do basic tasks in public probably has no meaningful effects beyond placebo and possibly fucking up his physical health.
comment in response to post
I mean tbh, what if he's not? I've taken ketamine in a therapeutic context and one thing I just don't get is how he could be doing anything other than staring at the pretty lights and feeling like his brain is being rotated like a rubix cube while high. It's probably an upper like cocaine or meth.

Yes, your parents may have sexually assaulted you, but they're the only family you will ever get and they deserve your respect and obedience so they can... *Checks notes* keep sexually assaulting you?

I actually don't think it's ai. I think his brain is so cooked by the dementia he has reverted to signing posts on truth social the way he would have sent an email twenty years ago
comment in response to post
It does! But it also says "Dr Squatch: Smell the Squatch" which I can only interpret as either horribly misguided marketing or a desire to appeal to the medical fetish.
comment in response to post
I love the implications that he spent years taking a proton pump inhibitor when they're not considered remotely safe for long term use, and yet he blames the medical community that has established that research for all of his problems.
comment in response to post
I don't say this to support Trump. The man is clearly both a narcissist and deeply suffering from dementia. But the whole point is that the founders didn't want kings because they knew they could make really fucking dumb decisions intimately well.

My guy, George III is famous for having led to the American revolution due to severe manic and psychotic episodes. He did such a Bad Job that his citizens went to war. By the standards of modern language, he was definitely not the brightest bulb in the box.
comment in response to post
Don't take advice from him, just please don't stop taking it from Andrew Wakefield, known fraudster.
comment in response to post
What he means is they publish findings he personally disagrees with, because he did his own research.
