Definitely agree on the night lords, I am now where runs with randos usually end at the night lord at level 12/13 fairly consistently, but then we run out of flasks and lives before we are close to winning. Once I had double giant crushers on raider and still could barely see the bar moving.

The fact that I am keeping this pace despite the fact that Nightreign released is honestly an achievement

Thanks! Really liked once upon a tome and I am curious about cozy fantasy as a subgenre, figured yours would be a good book to start reading in it

Nice one Rami :) I am working on a novel about three friends studying at a university of magic, and how their world is about to change. First chapter here: docs.google.com/document/d/1... (always looking for beta readers if anyone wants to DM me)

The Case of the Golden Idol is a great example of storytelling through the videogames medium, it also has simple commands and no game over state which makes it frustration free for beginners. If they like puzzles or good stories it’s a must.

I got Drakan as a random gift from my uncle and loved it (even though I had a German copy and barely understood anything), I remember learning the basics was hard! but the game was lots of fun after the initial hurdle. Unfortunately I somehow soft locked myself in a puzzle room and never finished it

if I had to point at something that is very barbarian specific (and fighter champion I guess) is the lack of choices. You are very much funnelled in a script each round: rage - get up front- smash. Not a bad thing per se, but not everyone's cup of tea either.

My guess is that they all feel like they could be the main character, as opposed to be essentially just props for the one main character. in BG3 they can literally be the main character in fact, if you play as them. It's rare productions that put so much effort in the whole cast.

When they praise such content they don’t do it from a sincere position of wanting it themselves, they are essentially advertising it as a product they believe they will sell

My guess is all these people want is selling this content and only because they think there is good money to be made (infinitely scalable with no production cost = infinite money). They don’t plan to consume it, because they don’t consume any content now, they only worry is to make money.

same, time budgeting is the real skill that they never teach you :D

I really loved it too! I was always in the perfect state of mind, engaged with the puzzle but never taking so long so I would be frustrated. I think it's a bit of a designer's game though, as in it really tries (and succeeds) to be very clever with itself in a way that is a tad self indulging
