I don't think the Dems can stop the firings. But why aren't they proposing legislation that assures those that took the buyout get paid , and that all that are fired, get at least a year severance and health benefits? And any one with a health condition is covered the entire time they are sick?

@jenpsaki.msnbc.com: "Inspectors general are a headache for everyone. You know why? Because they're investigating every agency and they find stuff! Including waste and fraud and abuse! They wouldn't be firing them if they cared about waste, fraud, and abuse."

I’ve asked it before and I’ll ask it again: where oh, where are all of those strict constitutionalists demanding that the executive branch’s power and reach is limited in their very, very very limited government view?

Investing in economic growth. Funding our schools. Improving the services working families and the vulnerable need. We cannot compromise on them, especially when we face the uncertainty of the federal government’s haphazard “ready, fire, aim” tactics toward everyday Americans.

Illinois looks very different in 2025 than it did in 2019. We've passed six balanced budgets with nine credit upgrades, invested in education, driven economic growth, strengthened our social safety network, reformed the criminal justice system, and rebuilt our infrastructure.

when you've (already) lost Larry Kudlow ...

At least six prosecutors have resigned over the DOJ order to dismiss corruption charges against New York Mayor Eric Adams. Rachel Maddow asks New York Gov. Kathy Hochul how she is feeling about the responsibility she has as the only person with the power to effectively fire Mayor Adams.

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges. This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

BREAKING: A judge has ordered the Trump administration to temporarily allow the disbursement of foreign aid.

Wow. The NYT reports that Acting Deputy AG Emil Bove coached Mayor Eric Adams' attorneys on what to argue in order to get the charges dismissed (namely, that the charges were interfering with the mayor's ability to cooperate with Trump's immigration crackdown): www.nytimes.com/2025/02/13/n...

Wow. Thank you Governor!

Yesterday was tough. It marked the one year anniversary of argument before SCOTUS on Trump's ballot eligibility. Our argument was strong and we were prepared, but the justices just had no stomach for it. Let's hope they show more backbone as cases against his administration's overreach proceed.

hey, i voted for the economically literate candidate not this guy: www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

KC forgot my friend @therickwilson.bsky.social 's first law: Everything Trump touches, dies.

US farmers sold $2 billion of food to USAID. Not any more. - US farmers provided 41% of food delivered by USAID - $340M of purchases/shipments are now paused. Over 680,000 tonnes. - Food stranded in Houston - Aid stopped in transit. The world’s poor starving, food rotting & US farmers screwed.
