For those that don't understand what USAID does - here's a primer:

I don't think Nancy is picking on the cross, rather she sees (as I do) how the Trump and his cronies parade the cross while committing abdominal acts. Like Trump selling bibles with his name on it. Just my thoughts.

They bonded while boofing years ago at beach week. Bros gotta bro.

My great-great grandmother's broach. Her father was a Rabbi in Kovno where 29,000 humans were held in the ghetto with many perishing. Lot's of lip-service from the right re: never forget, we have forgotten and are headed that way again.

I wish only those that voted for him had to suffer such folly, sadly all of us will.

Bishop Budde also spoke out when Trump staged his photo op at Saint Johns (the one with him holding the bible upside down). This is not her first rodeo with the clown in the WH.

Washington, DC

I drove around DC yesterday, high gates around familiar places that never saw this type of security before. Stay safe everyone, stay together, and resist the BS about to unfold.

You are an inspiration. Keep shining, fighting, resisting!

Pretty f'ing bad, but I hope you and your family are doing well. Give your husband a hug from all of us!

The stark reality of how far we've fallen as a nation was so apparent by President Carter's funeral on Thursday and Trump's sentencing on Friday.

Two things will happen on the 20th, it will mark the return of evil to the WH but also marks the day we celebrate the life/legacy of MLK. Pres. Carter's service was another reminder of how we should act as Americans. Our future is in the hands of those who believe in the dream.

Of the two President’s returning to DC this month, the one who we are honoring with flags at 1/2 is the only one I care about. PS. You forgot Trump’s rally in DC on Jan 19th - sure to be a gathering much like ones gatherings held at The Eagles Nest.

Families of the 1/6 rioters who are in the DC jail have rented a house near by they refer to as the eagles nest. This speaks volumes about who these people are and what they stand for. THANK YOU for standing up for us/democracy!

I'm 56, grew up in the DMV, @washingtonpost.com was always my paper. Your departure was a milestone moment for me and I unsubscribed. I will always be a fan, am looking forward to your next steps. Thank you for taking a stand!

Loving this series of family photos ;)

The fact that many of the Jan 6th rioters have family members staying at a rental house near the jail they call "the eagles nest" speaks volumes about these people. Yet a majority of Americans are OK with this. Resist!

Sadly, yes it’s what some of them voted for.

Impressed! I love Feather’s, may I copy your pattern?

POTUS helping steady Michael J Fox before he received the award shows his humanity. It was a beautiful moment.

The Post was my parent's paper and mine. I cancelled my subcription today when I heard of Ann's departure and the reason why. Democracy sure AF is dying at @washingtonpost.com.
comment in response to post
THANK YOU for taking a stand @washingtonpost.com! Democracy is obviously dying in the darkness at a paper I've read all of my life.

If I know one thing today it's that there will be vast amounts of ketchup dripping on the walls at Mar-a-lago when he hears this news.

It's sad, and sick, and I know deeply personal to you. Sending you love.

No flames, and while in DC last night I was both angry by the innauguration parade route prep for the perv and energized that there is work ahead for resisters, truth seekers, and not back downers. Knees up in 2025!
comment in response to post
I was a kid at his innauguration, but remembered all our moms bought blue coats like Mrs. Carter's afterwards. My belief system says the are holding hands again in the great beyond.

And there will STILL be MAGAs that support him. They are a cancer on the soul of this nation.

I grew up in the DMV, I can tell you last time we were scared, this time we are terrified. Trump and his allies are terrorists ready to mind F the American people for sport. I'm ready to resist!

These are the men that cling to the idea they are above the law, it's just locker room talk, women are lesser humans, and I am sure the new administration will embolden them in this line of thinking.

The next 4 years is going to be exhausting. These fools are just warming up.

When I was in school we had fire drills, yesterday a second grader knew to call 911 and that there was a shooting going on. We are circling the drain!
comment in response to post
Nope, nor is it too soon to tell the “thoughts and prayers” people to stfu.
comment in response to post
I am curious if Nancy considers all handshakes assaults or just shakes by some people? The MAGA reality is so confusing.

Will Omarosa be back in DC? Nothing should shock us at this point.

Sending thoughts and prayers.

This is all so disgusting, including waking up to see that Time named a rapist person of the year. Normalizing the Trump family must not happen!

Like this Christmas when someone brings up the election - ho, ho, oh, no.

The people that will be clutching their pearls are the same ones who think it’s ok for shady AF Kushner to be appointed as ambassador to France.

The only way we are going to get through this shit show is to lean on each other when we are feeling hopeless. Today you lean on me (and others with hope) later repay the hope. We can do this, we have to the future of our children.

I hope his wife has been tested for STDs!

This might mean that the ethics committee reopens his case. I don't think mcforehead is in the clear.

Don't forget ketchup packets - when his picks don't do exactly as he says there will be ketchup on the walls at the WH again.
