I'm in northern US and have incorporated them as well, but I still get puzzled looks. A humble request to maybe slip a y'all into a future video to see what it is like there. πŸ˜‰

Thanks to @flightriskmushing.bsky.social's sharing of ReRun's FB post, we know about another Zeke feature. #MusherSky alaskapublic.org/news/2022-02...

Thanks, Barb! Good teachers and managers have taught me by example. Now I have to remember to do better myself. Heh.

I believe other UglyDogs are in contact and have offered to help set up whatever they decide. It may be a bit to hear more though. I can only imagine the work, logistically and emotionally, it takes to get back to home base.

He passed away last year and I'm thinking about him today. About what I like, the confidence I gained, and the skills I've developed because Shakespeare didn't start off as intimidating. Thank you, teachers, for choosing to do something hard. I'm sorry it keeps getting harder. You matter.

and really hoped he would find it funny to get an unsigned warning out of nowhere. Instead, he flipped the tables and mailed me back. No idea how he knew it was me but this interaction led to staying in touch for years. Postcards from travel. Holiday letters. And always the Ides. (2/)

So, from now on until the Widow's Lamp is extinguished, I will send 27USD to RuRun's GoFundMe for every donation you give to any of the Iditarod causes. No donation money? No problem. Simply signal boost or look at #Igivearod for other ways to give. DM me with what you did or donated. #UglyDogs

Wow, I missed this. Are they having to go over a section of this?

I think there was an interview where Holmes said having them rest closer promotes their dog bond to each other and also decreases how much he, as musher, has to move to do his chores. πŸ™‚

Would be great to have one of them finish as the highest rookie.

Choosing to be visible. Choosing to show who they are and what they can do. Gratitude to Q, PepΓ©, team, for letting me ride along and being able to share in the story. (2/2)

Nice! Cause I think that's where my content will head - gardening and yard transformation.

I believe I followed you there for both and will follow you here for both. πŸ™‚

Great avatar too. Go, Carol Corps!

As it turns out, I captured it…

They've said it doesn't come from out of the blue. The race judges will communicate over several checkpoints so the musher(s) understand the considerations.

May they successfully complete the Grinch turnaround after a period of sufficient rest.

That was in my batch because Flame would like it funded. Ha

Sounds like Gabe Dunham may be scratching at Eagle Island. Matt Hall's sled flipped and pinned him. Glad he appears well in the interview video and is able to smile about it. If enough snow comes down, it will help with the icy overflow ruts (good) but also slow the trail down (bad). *sigh* (2/2)

Taking dogs off the line both adds sled weight and decreases dog power. Can be used when trail conditions allow. 2) Returned dogs aren't necessarily kenneled for the airforce ride. Makes the Colbert flight even more interesting in my imagination. #UglyDogs (2/2) www.davepoyzer.com/shop/photo-p...

They said Galena cam is going to stay until morning. It would be great to have visual.

I bow to greater knowledge because I have no idea where anyone is from. πŸ™‚ Think I heard it from the Galena interviews and probably combined info in my head.

They've been saying the difference in training conditions couldn't be more stark. The fast teams, Drobny, Holmes, Phillips... all train in 'rougher' areas. The low-snow, icy teams, like Deeter, aren't as successful this year.

I think she would be more acclaimed, which she deserves, but hard to imagine that she would be more loved and admired. πŸ™‚

Got to see Paige Drobny leave this morning and her team looked strong and ready. Tails floofily high. 🀞 They started heading out the wrong way enthusiastically and she had to get them turned and reset. πŸ™‚

Yes, but from my armchair, I'm indignant on PepΓ©'s behalf. Who are you, Bob? Hmm? Who are you? πŸ˜„

All the dogs (and person) were energized during the experience. Q is excited about 4-yr-old sprint dog Opal being with him. Monster was dropped because of size and overall speed. Thinking 3 runs to Ruby but will really just see how things go. (2/2)
