For the purposes of this Order, the following definitions apply: ļ»æļ»æļ»æReinstatement means restoration to employment, whether actually on duty or on leave, including administrative leave. ļ»æļ»æļ»æRestrained Defendants means the following agencies: United States Department of Commerce @savenoaa.bsky.social

4. The Restrained Defendants SHALL NOT, throughout the United States, conduct any future Reductions in Force ("RIFs")-whether formally labeled as such or not except in compliance with the notice requirements set forth in 5 U.S.C. Ā§ 3502, relevant regulations set forth in Title 5 #saveNOAA

Without NOAA, we are adriftā€”blind to the changing currents, unguarded against the storms, and severed from the wisdom that the ocean, in its quiet and ancient way, has always tried to teach us. #SaveNOAA @savenoaa.bsky.social @noaa.gov

To lose NOAA would be to silence one of the oceanā€™s strongest voicesā€”the guardian that warns of tempests before they strike, that safeguards the fragile balance of life beneath the waves, that holds back the tide of ignorance in a world that depends upon the sea yet scarcely understands it #SaveNOAA

The ocean does not wait. The climate does not pause. The tides do not hold their breath for politics to settle. And neither should we. #SaveNOAA

To those who believe in science, in the protection of our natural world, in the power of knowledge to shape a better futureā€”do not be silent. Speak out.

Without NOAA, more lives will be lost in predictable storms. More fishing communities will collapse without sustainable management. More businesses will suffer from supply disruptions due to untracked climate disasters. Americans will be abandoned to a future of uncertainty.

No private company, university, or state agency can fill the void. Businesses don't forecast hurricanes for public good. Universities don't deploy aircraft into storm eyes to improve warnings. States can't launch satellites tracking global climate change. Only NOAA performs these vital functions.

Your work is the foundation of public safety, economic resilience, and environmental stewardship. But let me be clear: if NOAA is allowed to be dismantled, there is no replacing it.

And to OMAO (Office of Marine and Aviation Operations), whose fleet of research vessels and aircraft bring the vast and mysterious ocean within reach, delivering the data that underpins every NOAA missionā€”your work is irreplaceable.

And to the forecasters of the National Weather Service (NWS), your warnings and predictions save lives every single day.

To those in NESDIS (National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service), your satellites are the eyes of the planet, tracking hurricanes, wildfires, and the changing climate in real time.

To the brilliant researchers at the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), your climate modeling and groundbreaking discoveries shape the policies that will define our future.

To those in the National Ocean Service (NOS), your work in mapping our coasts, tracking sea level rise, and supporting marine sanctuaries is more important than ever.

To my colleagues in the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), you are the guardians of our nationā€™s fisheries, ensuring that marine ecosystems remain sustainable for future generations.

This is not just about me. This is about the survival of truth in an era where profit speaks louder than reason. To those who remain at NOAAā€”in every line office, in every lab, in every field station and research vesselā€”stand strong.

An administration and corporate interests, emboldened by greed and ignorance, have sought to weaken NOAA by terminating probationary employees, stripping funding, and attempting to silence those who dedicate their lives to understanding and protecting our planet.

I was illegally fired from my position. Not for failing in my duties, nor for lack of skill or dedication. No, my dismissalā€”like that of othersā€”was the result of a coordinated attack on NOAA, on public service, on science itself.
