Absolutely. In HI, there's the heat, mugginess & hurricane season. Other places certainly have it worse. Due to climate crisis, we — and others — must contend w/ the ocean warming, which damages our reefs, shoreline loss as the sea level rises, neg. impacts on the land & marine ecosystems, etc.

I’m from Hawai’i, so it’s chilly for me, but I shouldn’t complain. We don’t face extreme temperatures in SF, which I’m very grateful for.

Very true. I live in San Francisco. The temps are still in the low-50s when I go for my early morning walks!

Whoa. That's way too soon.

A magic quesadilla bush!

In times like these, words feel inadequate. Acts of kindness speak volumes.

This is fantastic. “I am cat, hear me ROAR!” I also really appreciate their names, Bobby and Ralph!

My sister’s dog loves going to the vet and getting all the attention!

White peaches bring me so much joy. Strawberries, too.

It’s a huge loss. They fill our hearts and our lives with love, chaos, ridiculousness and affection. I’m so sorry.

Yes. I know a tiny bit of Japanese. I sound … sweeter when I speak it. dicmat.com/whoa/voice-c...

Apollo? Also, I appreciate Corti taking a firm stance on the matter!

I lived in D.C. for a number of years. Stepping outside early in the morning and already feeling like you need to shower? No fun.

Sending so much empathy. My Mom took the lead on cleaning out my grandparents’ home after they passed away. She doesn’t want to leave behind the same task for her kids, and has been donating stuff for years, AND YET.

Maybe a thank you card and a gift card to a nearby grocery store? Or even a nice flower arrangement or cute plant?

Same here. My grandma used to mix in her children, grandchildren and dogs’ names when trying to call one of us!

Absolutely, I remember my cousin laughing, saying, “It’s like a whole bunch of Pride flags sprouted up in the yard.” Not sure about my uncle, but my aunty is much better with my cousin’s pronouns now.
comment in response to post
Aww. I think the year after my cousin came out as a nonbinary trans person, despite still getting their pronouns wrong, my uncle stuck a TON of mini Pride flags in their yard.

Love your descriptions of these pups. I hope they all find amazing, loving homes soon.

Baby gates are amazing. Our family’s old dog was afraid of them. We didn’t fully connect them, just used them as a barrier to keep her in the living room, etc. when we were cooking. I think the sound freaked her out.

Ok, that's really helpful!

Oh man. Dogs by the stove, the sink or the MIDDLE of the kitchen?!?
comment in response to post
This is almost as bad as when dogs insist on hovering right by our feet when we’re cooking!

I’m so sorry. There’s never enough time with our loved ones. Goodbye, sweet Pippin.
