Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years as a result of a deliberate strategy. Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people. Good trade.

Climate experts expressed shock and dismay at the move. “It would be a bit like unplugging the equipment that monitors the vital signs of a patient that is critically ill,” one said. By @fastlerner.bsky.social

I'm not saying journalists should never interview admitted propagandists. There are journalistic reasons to do so. But if we do, we must be prepared to -- in fact it is our duty to -- challenge vociferously all unsubstantiated claims. Otherwise, we ourselves become propagandists.

I'm able to make this animation of how the ocean breathes in and out CO₂ because of data collected by NOAA scientists, data served at NOAA websites, and tools provided by NASA. All are under threat of being dismantled by the Trump administration.

I agree. In a functioning democracy, we would already be in the midst of an impeachment trial.

From the 2024 presidential immunity oral arguments: "But the liberal justices voiced concern that by offering presidents a shield from prosecution, the court could turn the Oval Office into a “seat of criminality,” as Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson described it."

BREAKING: The country of Norway just entered a bill to give transgender Americans asylum in the country of Norway… LGBTQ+ STRONG! 🌈✨

Tariffs? Out of control. Prices? Skyrocketing. Emergency powers? He’s abusing them. And yet… not a single question about whether he’s even fit to serve. The math ain’t mathing.

Lawyers for the Trump administration say they're unable to provide information on the location and status of a Maryland man who was mistakenly deported to a notorious prison in El Salvador. buff.ly/UcBBahO

It's tempting to ascribe this to malice specific to Ms. Öztürk but no, this is actually pretty standard medical care in a lot of jails and prisons and ICE detention centers (same with the failure to provide religiously-appropriate treatment).

The museum was told that its grant was “no longer consistent with the agency’s priorities and no longer serves the interest of the U.S.” Meaning: the lives and stories of Black people are not a priority and are not of national interest. Full on white supremacy. www.bostonglobe.com/2025/04/10/m...

JOY,!! These women right here bring me so much JOY and HAPPINESS,!! So lucky to be a party of the USA Water Polo and Team USA Greater Family 🫶🏾❤️💙

Though experiment. In light of the past 90 days, if they went back in time: Would Merrick Garland have acted with greater speed and urgency? Would Congress have convicted Trump?

It's long past time to ban insider trading in Congress.

Rep. Steven Horsford to Greer: "So the trade representative hasn't spoken to the POTUS about a global reordering of trade, but yet he announced it on a tweet? WTF! Who is in charge? It looks like your boss just pulled the rug out from under you. There is no strategy ... is this market manipulation?"

Declan Rice talking us through two of the best free kicks I've ever seen as an Arsenal fan. God, I love Declan. He's one of us 🫶

Just my opinion, but a dictatorship in which one guy makes all the decisions and deports regular law abiding people is probably not a great system of governing.

UPDATE: ICE is wildly unconcerned about where this man is and no one will tell me, his registered attorney. The universal answer so far is "let's wait and see where he ends up." This is deeply off. We would have more rights at this point if UPS had lost a pair of shoes I'd just bought from Zappos

Crockett: "If we are gonna talk about efficiency, let's talk about the fact that as of March 30, Trump's golfing has cost us approximately $26 million. And the last time I checked, we're not getting anything in return for that ... he decided he was going to golf instead of receiving four heroes."

I love paying TurboTax a few hundred bucks every year to figure out how much money I owe the government, which the government already knows, but won't tell me because TurboTax pays legislators to keep the government from telling me. 😻

SCOTUS cloaks their decisions in legalese, but I don’t know how anyone can infer that the Alien Enemies Act applies to those arrested, or to people who have committed no crime. Roberts and the majority are in Trump’s pocket.
