I have a new favorite Reddit post.

A federal judge has ordered the Trump admin to unfreeze federal funding allocated to Maine from the Department of Agriculture — funds that had been withheld following Trump's clash with Gov. Janet Mills over transgender athletes.

You can’t do “mass” deportation and give due process, and what conclusion you draw from that says important stuff about your commitment to law.

My law firm is currently litigating 49 voting and election cases in 21 states. States with the most cases: AZ, GA, NC, NV, FL, LA, PA. I expect new cases will be filed this week.

Bring ALL the people our government illegally renditioned to a foreign prison without habeas corpus. Not just one obviously innocent man. Bring them back for due process in THIS COUNTRY. That is the law.

i do not think the mainstream press is equipped or capable of covering ideological white nationalists and eugenicists as such, or even capable of noting that this is what they are. it is related to the wide belief that racism is simply a matter of manners.

you don't often see a national political career derailed in a single moment, captured perfectly on film

"Sterling lost its position as an international currency because Britain lost its great-power status, not the other way around. And Britain lost its great-power status as a result of homegrown economic problems."

A helpful guide to the current state of US trade policy:

It would appear CNN was also at the eugenics conference? Why are all these mainstream news orgs at a 200-person event where all the speakers are eugenicists and racists? www.cnn.com/2025/04/11/u...

I've been SAYING Trump is going to have a "stamp act" moment, so it's embarrassing to admit it took me 3 months to finally notice it in a "tariff act". Hiding in plain sight, doing jazz hands. Daring us--almost taunting us--to do something about it

nobody likes the secret fact that a significant contributor to both is how shit-awful men think they're allowed to be. some women would/could have a child without a partner, but not most, and a lot of men are not making a persuasive case why a life with them is better than a life alone

Number of people who go bankrupt every year because of medical bills or illness-related work loss: Australia 0 Canada 0 Denmark 0 Finland 0 France 0 Germany 0 Iceland 0 Ireland 0 Italy 0 Japan 0 Netherlands 0 Norway 0 Portugal 0 Spain 0 Sweden 0 UK 0 United States 530,000 There’s a lesson there.

BREAKING: The House of Representatives just passed the SAVE Act, a bill that would make it much harder for millions of people to register to vote. We're calling on the Senate to reject this legislation.

So proud to live here. Thank you, @masonthompson.bsky.social.

Collins Esubonteng is 16, and on Tuesday he will have an opportunity to vote for Newark’s school board this year after a local reform. "They actually have to listen to us. If they don't make changes, they won't get our vote." boltsmag.org/newark-...

When Elon Musk “donated” Starlink service to the White House, it immediately struck our reporters as the potential Trump-era iteration of a tried-and-true business maneuver they’d spent months reporting on last year. By @reneedudley.bsky.social

Get out of my head @michaelsteele.bsky.social I was practically speaking in unison with you, word for word this episode. Even the curses. Especially the curses. open.spotify.com/episode/0D6K...

A reminder that a lot of people are standing up against tyranny. They pay a price for it, and they are still doing it.

What a grim paragraph www.nytimes.com/2025/04/10/u...

Sociologist Orlando Patterson introduced the idea of “social death” to describe how enslaved people were stripped of all rights and social ties. Now Trump’s trying to enact ”social security death.”

If he’s saying he can use the promised free lawyering “after I leave” office, he’s admitting he committed extortion for personal gain. Another day, another impeachable offense.

Politico has this piece on th absurdity of trying to negotiate 75 bulateral teade deals in 90 days. But the piece wildly understates the problem. Trade deals are laws. They have to pass congress. www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

This just in: On Friday, a DOGE staffer mistakenly classified White House adviser Stephen Miller as a potato, after which he was julienned, fried, and served to Butterworth's customers in DC. The government has filed a document of Our Bad and intends to move on from this incident.

From Lollapalooza to Detention Camps: Meet the Tent Company Making a Fortune Off Trump’s Deportation Plans

just going to say today has been the worst one yet since jan 20 in terms of managing “how do i do my silly little job and live my silly little life amidst………..”

I’m not kidding; this is DOGE at work; multiple US citizens getting notices that they just leave the country because USCIS is revoking their humanitarian parole. www.politico.com/news/2025/04...
