“A Busy, Busy Day at the Airport” By @rubenbolling.bsky.social, after Richard Scarry. Genius. Click in.

Danger 33000 Volts

It's nice to be watching my home North York Moors on the Tour of Britain Women. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cyclin...

“Should we park up on the empty driveway?” “Nah” “What about the clearly marked bay about two feet behind us?” “Nah, just chuck it on the pavement, I can’t be arsed to walk too far” “But gaffer, parking on the empty driveway would be closer” “Shut up Steve and get it parked on the pavement”

Labour should stop being led by "Treasury Brain" and actually follow through with their good manifesto "promises". samf.substack.com/p/defeating-...

Just arriving into New Street past the Rishi Sunak Memorial Open Space, where a vast new station is being built to serve trains running on non-existent tracks. The worst part was chatting with my neighbour on the train:”You didn’t think they were actually going to build it, did you? They never do”

When warnings of Insectageddon were issued a few years ago, there was widespread denial. Less so now. It's devastating. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Similarities between ICE & the Gestapo

Oh the (lack of) joy of living in a 51-49% world, constantly balancing precariously between liberalism and illiberalism. One day, hopefully, there will be a decisive shift back towards liberalism. Perhaps.

Why do car parks not take int account the people going to/from their cars? All that's provided is a tiny pavement and even that has the no entry sign blocking it.

The prize is enormous: affordable, reliable rail transport that serves communities rather than shareholders. The risk is equally significant: discrediting public ownership for years to come. Labour must get this right. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Biggest ever fine handed to Water Company today at £122.7m to Thames Water for dumping sewage. They will just laugh, borrow more money, then use that as an excuse to increase their bills. They need to be banned from paying dividends, or in the case of Thames Water simply banned

Tax wealth. Not work.

@itvnews.bsky.social There are easily available guidelines for journalists on reporting road collisions. “Driver seriously injures cyclists” is what you should be saying. Drivers are responsible for their actions, not the piece of machinery they’re in charge of.

This hits hard.

The sheer barefaced dishonesty of a regime that is snatching people off the streets for their speech; painting over testimonials to women & minorities in US history; subjugating universities & trying to crush research into subjects it dislikes, standing as a champion of "free speech" is staggering.
