I’m so sorry to hear that. But to my knowledge about the time, that doesn’t actually get completely deleted when you reformat, look up a software called disc drill and it should let you access a lot of files some may be corrupted. It’s a paid software after X amount of recoveries. Maybe open source

It should be OFF by default, I hate it when they have it on by default then having to track down the settings and change it later. Appreciate the work though Bluesky! Can’t wait to start posting my finished work soon.

I remember something about it also being physiological because the increase makes you think it’s going to take forever. Then reduces it to make it seem faster and holds you on edge so you don’t just quit it. Or it genuinely got caught in a process and is waiting for a timeout.
