I know an Italian who was practising for it. One question was "What was Margaret Thatcher famous for?". "Ooo, tricky" he thought. "Could be miners' strike, milk snatcher, privatization, no such thing as society, ...". The correct answer was "first woman Prime Minister".

The first time we stayed in our house in the depths of the Black Forest over new year we didn't bother staying up. We were woken up at 00:00 by what sounded like World War III breaking out. I shudder to think what a major city is like!

Regulators (particularly in jurisdictions with strong privacy protections) may. Without the publication, the company can say "nothing of interest here", with it, they have failed to protect personal information.

There is another solution. Buy _another_ house and dedicate one or more rooms as a library. If it is a holiday home somewhere, it might even be affordable.

I think they will eventually repeal the law. I would be surprised if it was immediate though. I would also be surprised if they removed citizenship from anyone who had already gained it. I _hope_ they will allow anyone who has already lodged an application, to contingency under the existing rules.
