I have a friend whose cat is like that. Perfectly sweet cat but loves to pee on the bed. Sometimes with the person in it.

I had one that went blind late in life. Basically meant I couldn't move the furniture around too much. Otherwise, she was fine.

I knew that one! Its one of those horrible bits of history I remain interested in, so when new stuff happens, I tend to become aware.

I know my parents were terrified when I started roaming 1970s NYC at 12, but there wasn't much they could do to stop me.
I had a $20 in my shoe (cab fare), a dime for a pay phone (knew how to call collect though), and a bus/train pass. Freedom!

During the summers, it was, "be home for dinner" or, if we went out after, "be home at dark."
During school times, I mostly didn't have a social life until 7th grade, when I started commuting to Manhattan. Had to be home by 6, for dinner. Sometimes I'd run into my father on the subway.

Oh, I live in a very boring neighborhood. At least my end of it is boring. Saw this down at the flasher, more commercial part.

Oh, I have actually done presentations on this!
Hmmm. Thinking how to best communicate. It would be a long thread.
Is email a possibility? You can DM....

I mostly use it in/around NYC, where it seems pretty reliable. Especially when I get off the train in an area I don't know well & need to find an address.

& at the convenience store, I am often charged less than the marked prices.
Or I'm not charged for a bag (I bring my own but sometimes I should have brought 2).
Just little things like that.

There are places around me where I'm an "irregular" bc I go every few weeks. But I'm there often enough to have parasocial relationships with staff & have a few privileges.
Like at the Chinese takeaway, I pay when I get my food. Nonregulars pay when ordering.

Yes!
I like mustard on mine & this guy didn't even raise an eyebrow when I ordered that. Just asked how much.
I don't usually put mustard on eggs but on it's perfection on this sandwich, I think because of the flavor of the roll.

After my 2nd visit to the same cart, the guy and I would just nod at each other when I got on line. Never had to speak my order again unless I changed it, so we just chatted while he worked.
Nice guy.
& the sandwich was always perfect.

This of course means he never gets one on the street. Or has "a guy."
When I worked in the Financial District, I got an egg and cheese once a week. Spent a few weeks finding the cart that did it right.
