Being perfect to me is like the eventual destination, not the journey, and that so-called perfection doesn't extend to everything. That's completely unrealistic. I understand that the pursuit of perfection isn't a standard I should expect. I'm also playing a little bit of devil's advocate here. :)

I hate when people kiss my ass. I always know and I automatically stop believing anything they say. I think true perfection is up to the individual. We all have different abilities and different expectations, and I will tell you right now that I have had some perfection in my life, but I get it.

But perfection, that's in the eye of the beholder, and to me personally, the mastery of a variety of disciplines has always served me well. I like mastering difficult things that interest me, and I do ultimately strive for perfection, or at least, my very best.
Simple joys are perfection to me.

When we are trying to execute a skilled feat of some kind, like a "perfect no-hitter" in Mortal Kombat, or a perfect pain au chocolat, or a perfectly centered picture on a wall, those are actually more about precision because there is a specific end goal in mind.

Have you ever had the perfect bite of food? Like the entire bite was perfectly balanced in every way, and for just a moment, all was right in the world? Have you ever seen a baby smile when they see someone they love? That's perfection. I think that the words "precision" and "perfect" get conflated.

Sometimes it does. I guess perfection is all about the perspective of the person trying to achieve it. Perfection looks like something different to everyone, but sometimes, life gives us these perfect moments where everything is peaceful and still and your heart swells with gratitude and love.
