This is going nowhere. I am a centrist Democrat and this is wasting energy and resources. It's time to focus on 2026. The Democrats better come up with a plan. As current things stand, the Democrats are going to lose House and Senate seats. We can't afford this!

I feel you! The Democrats need a serious pushback plan in 2026. This should be the priority. As it stands now, the Democrats are going to lose House and Senate seats in 2026 without a serious plan. FTR, I am a retired serious, 50+ years experienced political operative.

Robert, there has been serious mismanagement in regards to land and forest management in California. I am all for giving California resources to rebuild, but if I were the federal government, I would tell California that we are taking 100% control of brush and forest management or no money.

Agreed - just look at how much more diverse America is in all professions. Race and ethnicity are far less barriers now.

I have a question here. Why was Mangione not charged with first degree murder? His alleged crimes seemed pretty premeditated.

One of my best friends (a retired military man and black) hated Japan. He experienced some awful racism in his time there.

Japan is also a very insular and closed society, where foreigners are often treated with disdain and contempt.

ππ Phineas, we need to accept the sad π fact that Trump is President and come up with an effective strategy to neutralize his agenda over the next for years. π

Excellent post, but the most important question is who is going to emerge as the Democratic Party nominee to challenge JD Vance in 2028? At present, there is no Democrat who can put a serious challenge. Sadly, the Democrats have less than two years to answer this. 2026 is looming really large here.

A thought - Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro would have been a much better VP pick for Kamala. I tried, along with several friends, to try to give the DNC our thought here. π

Tim Walz did himself no favors with a bad debate against JD Vance. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro would have been a much better VP pick for Kamala. I tried, along with several friends, to try to give the DNC our thought here. π

The main problem in this year's presidential election was the big drop in Democrat turnout in many places. In Pennsylvania, for example, the Democrats had a 1 million+ early voting advantage in 2020. In 2024, that advantage shrunk to just 300,000+. Republicans always vote big on election day. π
