HAPPENING NOW: At the federal courthouse in Greenbelt, Maryland, Judge Paula Xinis is set to begin a hearing on the government’s efforts – or lack thereof – to “facilitate” the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland resident who was wrongly removed to El Salvador. Follow along for updates ⬇️

Abrego Garcia's wife: "I will not stop fighting until I see my husband alive. Kilmar, if you can hear me, stay strong. God hasn't forgotten about you. Our children are asking when you will come home ... they miss their dad so much."

DOGE is a criminal conspiracy to defraud the people of the United States

I mean, yes, I would too bsky.app/profile/fina...

i never understand how people take orders that are pure evil and rationalize it. how do these people live with themselves. if i forget to say goodbye to a friend at a function before leaving i feel like a monster and these people simply shrug off crimes against humanity lol

lol @nbcnews.com changed this headline after I posted below

Saw two miniature horses out on a walk around a suburban neighborhood this weekend

In defiance of the Supreme Court & without any evidence, the White House claims that Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a “terrorist,” who was “sent to the right place.” This is a blatant LIE. He is innocent. He cannot be allowed to rot in an El Salvadorian jail. He must be brought home.

I don’t think a better headline could have been written about what happened yesterday. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

"Tracking the official deportation numbers is difficult because the Trump administration has stopped publishing the Office of Homeland Security Statistics’ detailed monthly accounting of immigration enforcement activities." wapo.st/3Rl7Ggt

The 1920s were the "Roaring 20s"; I suspect this decade will be the "Ruined 20s."

one of the more blatant, in your face fascistic moments trumps 2nd term has had yet, and that’s saying something. they are telling us they love that they are openly doing crimes against humanity. if the world doesn’t prosecute every single person involved in this, it will be a failure of humanity

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

STOP CALLING PEOPLE MIGRANTS, THE TERM WAS INTENTIONALLY POPULARIZED BY THE FAR RIGHT TO DEHUMANIZE REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS

We've reached the point in our descent into fascism where the Jewish governor's house getting firebombed on Passover by a guy trying to bash his head in with a sledgehammer is overshadowed by the story of the President saying he wants to build foreign gulags for US citizens.

Someone once said NextDoor is the social network for dogs if they could type. It’s always “what’s that noise?” and “who’s that stranger?” which is exactly what I imagine my dogs would text other neighborhood dogs.

important context about the concentration camps in el salvador:

MIT following Harvard's lead here

They’ll pressure a NATO ally to release a sex trafficker and racketeer but they won’t pressure a tiny dictatorship to return a man it’s holding on our behalf, who they admit they sent there by accident

👇🏽

There we go. Support this man.

A lot of people would rather see others harmed than be helped, but I personally wouldn’t build a political movement around it.

“Now that Trump’s tariffs are threatening to end my small business, we should all care about each other” 🐆💀

It’s been lost in the tariff news but the fact that the U.S. government can accuse you of a crime and send you to an El Salvadoran prison without trial, is legitimately scarier than the most hyperbolic claims of fascism made by the left during the election.

Sanders: We’ve got a president of the United States who— Crowd: Boooo Sanders: I agree

36,000 people came to the @sanders.senate.gov and @aoc.bsky.social rally against oligarchy in LA. People want leaders who will fight and name what’s happening clearly.

happy ten year anniversary to this post

prosperity ahead

Kinda hard to see a free and fair 2028 election where she doesn’t win by a lot.

Make it make sense

‘Fawning’ is a response where a person gives a servile display of exaggerated flattery in order to gain favor or advantage. AKA: ass-kisser, bootlicker, toady, suck-up brown-noser, etc.

Ryan Coogler’s ‘SINNERS’ is the highest rated film of 2025 • Holds 100% on Rotten Tomatoes • Only film this year shot on IMAX film cameras • Described as a thematically brilliant vampire horror that could be Coogler’s magnum opus Read our review: bit.ly/SinnersDF

One of the worst parts of this era is the number of people who are like “it’s a bad opinion, but I have to debate it because the news told me to.”

Just in case those of us fighting for democracy in court didn't need another challenge, Big Law turning collaborators is here and growing. My firm and others continue to fight. We will never back down. We will never bend a knee. We will never obey.

How it started // How it’s going

This declaration on the face of it doesn’t satisfy the order, it only addresses one of the three points required.

Your choice in reading says a lot...

Once again, we fought a whole damn ass war against the British to prevent this kind of thing
