Not sure about impressive 🤔 but it was very enjoyable. I'm now getting back my flow when ringing. 😃

Indeed. I am all too aware of the weight of responsibility of the role.

I've posted a link to a self-directed CPR course from @thebhf.bsky.social at the end of this thread, but it has been blocked for some bizarre reason. 🤷♂️

You too can upskill yourself and learn CPR in just 15 minutes, thanks to RevivR from @thebhf.bsky.social. revivr.bhf.org.uk
Do it! Stop scrolling, grab a pillow and visit the website. It takes 15 minutes. #HeartMonth

Remember, all of this happened with no common language, other than that of CPR.
I'd absolutely jump up again to help a other human if the situation arose, irrespective of language barriers or cultural differences.
➡️ And so can you. ⬅️ #HeartMonth

I was upset that we'd failed to save him, but I was essentially feeling very raw and was evidently in shock. With a bit of post-trauma support, I was able to recognise that we'd given him a better chance of survival. We improved his odds, compared to doing nothing. #HeartMonth

We handed him over to the paramedics and the family disembarked. The train continued, and I sat there wondering what the hell had just happened.
I was surrounded by non-English speakers and so couldn't speak to anyone about the event. #HeartMonth

We used a defibrillator (in Japanese, and the Japanese woman tapped me when we needed to be clear). We kept going for 25 minutes, between the seats, until the train was able to make a stop and allow paramedics on board. By then, it was becoming obvious that we'd lost him. 🥺 #HeartMonth

I don't speak any Japanese, but I was able to communicate with another passenger through the medium of CPR. We took turns and worked on the guy in front of his family and the rest of the carriage. They were utterly distraught and we did our best to hold on to him. #HeartMonth

I was introduced to it as a small child. Once you know how it works, it is dead easy. Just don't ever try to use it like a standard dual carriageway. It is anything but!

And thank you for reading this little thread. I didn't put it here for likes. It's to help you make a difference. You know what to do.

You🫵 could be the difference between someone dying and surviving. Got 15 mins? Learn CPR here: revivr.bhf.org.uk with @thebhf.bsky.social.
CPR vastly improves the chances that someone will survive a cardiac arrest.🙂 #HeartMonth ❤️

Ooh, new information. Need to see if my mum has heard of this restriction.

I remember vigils too. Were they late 90s or early 00s? I remember supporting one in Cardiff, in particular. Jeez, if I'm querying the year, then I must be getting old! 😆

Interesting. A bit of light-hearted punching and punching - maybe that kick-starts the month to make sure one is alert? 😄 I love these sorts of phrases! (Although I wouldn't condone hitting anyone.)

I feel better knowing this. My mum got it from her nan, apparently, but could never explain the meaning of it.

Aha! Thank you. I will reassure my mum that she is common.
