I just listened to a song about an unexpected snail in a fish tank and I loved it.

It’s a good thing Congress isn’t alive to see this

I have a constant earworm today. What's the first song that comes to your mind when you see the shirt?

Vacation goal achieved: I'm not thinking about web dev stuff! 🔥

Finally a year after I purchased it I’m starting the “Web Accessibility Cookbook” by @matuzo.at #a11y

Friday bookmarklet time! This is another one that I've been using myself for a long time, but not shared before. It's dead simple - it checks the page title (testing for SC 2.4.2 Page Titled), but also looks at the page `<h1>` element and shows the two together. a11y-tools.com/bookmarklets...

I got the chance to read this book about accessible UX research by Dr. Michele A. Williams a couple of weeks ago and I loved it! Go and grab a copy! www.smashingmagazine.com/2025/06/acce...

Camping Life 🔥

Okay gang, those who sling HTML, CSS, JS, which _Firefox_ bugs are blocking you? Which features do you think need improving? What new features would you like to see? What work would you prioritise? Big or small, bonus points for linking to a bug (even more for filing bugs then linking them)!

I learned French in school (20 years ago 🙃) but for the past two years I've been learning Italian. Now I'm on Corsica and I'm trying to speak French but my brain has a really hard time differentiating between the two languages. Even counting doesn't work well: un deux trois quattro cinq...

I will never get used to how little Italians care about traffic rules. 40km/h limit? Ah yea, ok, 80 is fine. No space on the left? It's fine, I'll just overtake you on the right. Turn signal? What's a turn signal? No parking spot? It's okay, I'll just park in the middle of the road.

If anyone is hiring, I'm still looking for my next thing. Senior Frontend/Fullstack Developer. Skilled at HTML/CSS/JavaScript, React, UI/UX, A11Y, web performance, design systems, Web Components, and more. I'd love to work with you! gomakethings.com/resume

Gibts in Österreich Frontend oder allgemein Web Dev Konferenzen, die ihr empfehlen könnt?

I'm trying to audit a website but all I can do is stare at fucking loading spinner because there's something wrong with the JavaScript. Using client-site rendering for a regular non-application like website is a sign of incompetence because you don't know what's best for your users.

I've done a lot of audits in the first half of this year and at this point a believe that designing links without underlines is a kink. The idea that users don't understand that links are clickable arouses some designers. I can't explain it any other way.

If you're invited to speak at a for-profit conference, only agree if you and all other speakers get paid. You're putting in a lot of work and you must be compensated. Exposure is not enough, even if you're a beginner. Don't sell yourself under your value.

Last day at work before we go on a four week vacation in France and Croatia. 🎉😍

leftpad vibes

I cannot describe how much I hate scrolljacking.

Is it just me or is search on most sites generally pretty bad?

Medienversagen nach der Tragödie von #Graz Der - leider recht große - Überblick auf @kobuk.at

I just stumbled upon @miocene.io's website. Fantastic work! The „3D cube with CSS“ post is great! miocene.io/post/3d-cube...
