So where did the money come from? Oh we're cutting our global influence which is only half the money required. Wasn't there a £20bn black hole 5 mins ago? Oh and we can't give money to poor kids or pensioners.

This is not serious stuff. You have Trump in the WH doing what ever the fuck he wants and the other end doing this. I think a bit of moderation is required here. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

This is labour's moment to win or lose. They cannot give away copyright for those who create to those who parasite. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Why do they really about people like they're bees?

Of course, trying to outdo the racists always works. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

If I was Starmers team, I'd be worried. 6 months in and pantomime fairy godmothers are already joking about giving him all the help he can get. Not a good sign.

Some folks are pretty good seeing things coming.

I will be on House of Games in second week of January

My Nana was laid to her final rest yesterday, she will be missed and we love her but she will never be forgotten. It strikes me that this is the end of a generation of my family, their thoughts and attitudes to life lost in time.

The first London outing of my next show - The Universe and the Neurodiverse which will also be book launch for Normally Weird…Weirdly Normal - has just gone on sale - tickets here shop.kingsplace.co.uk/31238/31239

5 authors I've read 5+ books by: Terry Pratchett Robert Jordan Iain M Banks Ian Fleming R.L. Stine

Just started sorting through poems - didn’t realise how many I had written since May - it is over 200 - some will vanish, some will sprout - aiming to do many more poetry nights next year - please do recommend clubs that might want me - here is my licence/license

I lost my Nana yesterday. We were so close and it's devastating. The hardest part was having to explain to a 4 year old that he won't see his Nana-Nana anymore. A whole generation of my family, their hopes and ideals lost forever. She was a constant in my life and my world will never be the same.

Podcasts. It appears that I have listened to a lot about history this year, both linear and musical. My top podcast being You're Dead to Me @gregjenner.bsky.social. Nice.

Obligatory Spotify wrapped etc. Pretty similar with a solid newcomer from Jacob Collier this year.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." -- Tolkien

There seems to be a lot of material for small children to encourage reading, which we use, but can anyone recommend ways of getting them exposed to maths and numbers in the same way? #mathematics #numbers @fryrsquared.bsky.social

If representative democracy was so good and we as the people assumed the reps are superior in intelligence as to make the "big decisions" on our behalf, then why are Jury's selected from the general population? Shouldn't MP's decide every trial case based on this logic? It's inconsistent.

My week has been soundtracked by classic jazz and it's been swell. Coltrane, Davis, Parker, Cannonball Adderley, Kenny Burrell, and Art Blakely. These guys could play right to the core of emotion.

Seriously? This is why the right wing do so well, because they have no principals and don't resign over minor offences which were resolved 11 years ago. She is obviously a capable transport sec who cares about workers and their rights.

A heads-up for fans of the Life Scientific: a special New Year’s Eve episode when my guest will be astronaut, Major Tim Peake, to be recorded at the Royal Society in front of a live audience. 🧪

My son (4) was in trouble for hitting another child at nursery. We told him he shouldn't hit, but it transpired the other child called him names 20 times before and had been asked to stop. I've decided this is analogous with conflicts large and small. One remembers the cuckoo, not the ticking.

The bullying poem part one and two

As I've got older (currently 37) and with a small child in the house there is less and less time for video gaming so find myself returning to old favourites, C&C, Civilisation, Sonic 2, Ocarina of Time, Final fantasy and the classic beat em ups like mortal Kombat. #videogames

I'm not sure if this is a physics or chemistry question so forgive me. (For context - This came about because a vegetarian fell to the back of the oven and caught). Why does something burnt end up black? Why that colour? #physics #chemistry @jimalkhalili.bsky.social @markmiodownik.bsky.social
