One of hundreds of people abducted by ICE and sold to slavery in El Salvador was a 19 year old with no criminal record in the US or Venezuela and no tattoos of any kind. An ICE kidnapper who grabbed him outside his house said, "He's not the one." The other said, "Take him anyway." So they did.

Okay. Uninstalled MariaDB. Installed MySQL. Now have an /etc/mysql with a random spaz of mysql.cnf files in different subdirs, where maybe I can guess by the dates which belong to which install. Moving /etc/mysql and reinstalling mysqld does not help; makes new /etc/mysql with a single empty file.

I set up Mariadb, got it working, loaded data - found out it does not have enough GIS support for what I'm doing. Uninstall now and off to MySQL. (I use Postgres, but current client on MySQL.)

Looks like with #MySQL can't move data dir and change config; doesn't work. Making new data dir in /home won't work because there's a config option to disable access to home. Now at point of fighting systemd config to get it to modify the unit file for MySQL; systemctl edit not working right now.

1. LLM-generated code tries to run code from online software packages. Which is normal but 2. The packages don’t exist. Which would normally cause an error but 3. Nefarious people have made malware under the package names that LLMs make up most often. So 4. Now the LLM code points to malware.

I do wish that more stories about the El Salvador prison where Trump disappeared people would note that it’s only different from US prisons in that it’s in another country, not because of the conditions. People are tortured and put in grave danger on American soil every day in our prisons.
